The Ford Torino was selected as Motor Trend 'Car of the Year' in
1970. Despite this accolade, restored Torinos are rarely seen
today, often taking a back seat to the more-abundant muscle cars of
the era. By all accounts, folks are over-looking a gem. This '70
Torino GT sportsroof has received a careful restoration back to
virtually original condition. (A MartiAutoWorks build report is
included with the car.) The Bright Yellow (D code) respray is in
excellent condition and is accented with original GT body side
stripping, 'honeycomb' taillights and 15" Magnum GT chrome-spoke
wheels w/Goodyear Eagle GT radials. The black Turin Knit/Vinyl
interior is also in excellent condition. Features include optional
bucket seats, full console, Hurst shifter, factory 'ribbon'
tachometer, tinted windows and AM/FM radio. Horsepower is furnished
by a 351ci/4V (M code) Cleveland that resides in a nicely detailed
engine compartment. It is fitted with the non-functional 'Cobra
Jet' style hood scoop and backed by a factory 4-speed close-ratio
manual transmission. Torque is delivered to a Traction-Lok 9"
differential w/3.50:1 gears (S code). We do not have the detailed
history of the drivetrain, but everything appears to be virtually
original. The chassis is equipped with manual steering and manual
drum brakes w/dual master. Suspension is front coil springs w/sway
bar and rear 4-leaf springs w/traction bars. This Torino GT is a
rare muscle car that belongs in your Blue Oval garage. ALL VEHICLES
SOLD "AS IS".
