This 2004 Ford Thunderbird is all about being a great modern
cruiser with a retro-style appeal. So you have the iconic lines and
legendary porthole hardtop that also now features a fuel-injected
V8, fully independent suspension, and loaded A/C interior.
We love these final-gen T-birds because they have a long and
fashionable style that was unmistakably inspired by the first cars
nearly a half-century prior. And we especially love the optional
hardtop with the hallmark porthole window. But while this has an
all-American appeal, there's also something more. There is also a
sand-colored power-folding soft top, and that provides a more
contemporary level of style. Heck, you may even call it European
because of the black & tan nature of the roof against the paint.
There has been a partial respray in a driver-quality finish. This
has a value price to leave money in your budget in case you want to
invest in upgrading the finish. But there really is a nice appeal
to how this is presented today. After all, this looks very clean
and complete cruising on the highway, and this has the kind of
overall presentation that won't make you nervous about using it for
weekend getaways. That makes for an ideal modern classic you can
use to the fullest. And there's an underlying quality you'll love
by just seeing the straightness of the sheet metal and the
completeness of the full package, right down to the distinct
16-spoke alloy wheels.
While we like the options of a black hardtop or a tan soft top, we
love the look of the black and tan two-tone interior. So just like
the first-gen Thunderbird, this looks best with no roof at all. But
what makes this an excellent modern cruiser is the level of modern
luxury. The seats are done in supple leather, and they are heated.
This combines with the dual-zone automatic A/C climate control to
make sure you and your passenger can be comfortable while open to
the world nearly any time of year. The driver gets a modern take on
the Thunderbird logo on the steering wheel, and beyond that are
white-faced gauges that also carry cool retro pastel needles. This
comes loaded with everything you could want, including power seats,
power locks, keyless entry/alarm, power steering, cruise control,
dual airbags, and a premium AM/FM CD changer stereo.
Ford's fuel-injected 3.9-liter DOHC V8 was the right choice for the
Thunderbird. After all, a proper T-bird needs eight cylinders, and
this one had the modern amenities to give it smooth power at both
the low and top ends. This is the numbers-matching motor, and as
you can see from the fresh presentation, it has been well
maintained in this actual mileage car. The five-speed automatic
transmission w/overdrive is an ideal pairing for an all-day
cruiser. In fact, while this Thunderbird is a personal luxury car
like its ancestors, it comes with a fully independent suspension,
four-wheel disc brakes, and ABS. So it's a true modern driver that
will just be begging for you to take a road trip.
Complete with owner's manual, this T-bird has the best colors, a
great presence, and an amazing price. An ideally built modern
classic like this might never be such a bargain again, so hurry up
and call today!
