The SL series has always been Mercedes Benz' halo car, incorporating the most advanced technology, the highest build quality and an uncompromised ownership experience in the luxury grand touring tradition. The W129 models built between 1989 and 2001, when equipped with the powerful 6.0 liter 48 valve V12 engine, designated SL600,was the halo of halo cars.
This 2000 model SL600 has less than 49,000 original miles and has been properly maintained by its three owners in California and Texas. Everything is in proper working order and the soft top, hidden under the removeable hard top is also in excellent condition. The car is completely stock and unmodified. It needs nothing and is as good to go across town as across country.
This 4th generation SL has aged well, representing the slab sided "monoblock" designs that is so fitting for the marque. Underway, this car lives up to its handsome looks and rolls like a block of granite. The V12 engine is silky smooth and moves this car forward at a sneaky fast rate, but don't think all that sophistication masks what lurks beneath; run it through the gears and those 389 horsepower make some glorious sounds. The brakes, steering and suspension are of course all world class and perfectly suited to the car; exactly what you would expect from Mercedes Benz.
