1963 Fiat 600 (Fully Restored)
This 1963 Fiat 600 was sold new in Italy where it remained until it was imported to the United States by the selling dealer last year. The car received a cosmetic refurbishment while with the previous owner, including a bare metal repaint in its current turquoise. Power is provided by a rear-mounted 633cc inline-four, and the engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The suspension was also reportedly refreshed during the previous updates, and the selling dealer has performed an oil change, oil filter change, and coolant change during their ownership. The car is now offered with a clean Florida title.
The body for this example was reportedly stripped to bare metal and repainted turquoise in 2015, with the current color believed to be correct for the car. Note that the red “600” sticker on the front grill was accidentally removed during a recent wash and will need to be replaced.
Originally designed as a city car, the 600 models were built with a 450 kg (~1000 lb) target weight with the ability to carry four people and their associated luggage. This example rides on a set of silver steel wheels with polished hubcaps, and detail photos of the paint finish and exterior trim can be viewed in the gallery.
The interior is trimmed in grey vinyl with matching material on the rear-hinged doors and has black rubber mats present in both the front and rear footwells. All interior gauges are reported to function as intended, and the odometer currently shows approximately 70,000 kilometers (~43,500 miles). True mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a 633cc inline-four that is mounted at the rear of the car and paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The engine reportedly received a new head gasket during the previous cosmetic updates, while an oil change and coolant change were completed by the selling dealer within the past year.
Fiat 600 models utilize a single leaf spring in the front of the car along with coil springs on trailing arms in the rear. The suspension on this example was refreshed circa 2015, and multiple videos of the car can be viewed below.
