For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Corvette in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

If you clicked this listing, we don't need to sell you on the virtues of the second-generation Corvette. You already know it's an attractive, comfortable, quick and all-around cool classic. In fact, it's one of the most popular collector cars of all time. That said, falling for a C2 is easy. The difficult part is finding a unique, well-restored car that'll keep you happy for years to come. Luckily, your friends at RK Motors have a real knack for finding standout builds. And this incredible Sting Ray, backing a professionally built 427 with a full Street Shop chassis and top-notch customization, is about as standout as it gets. So, if the mako bug has bitten you, take a closer look at this killer bowtie!

MOD MILANO MAROON

A tasteful custom that's seamlessly traditional and fresh, this clean C2 is the product of a detailed, ground-up restoration that mixed a lot of time with a lot of investment. That meticulous build shines through a serene coat of silky Milano Maroon two-stage that, thanks to skilled modification, virtually glows in bright light. And today, lean, mean, timeless and classy, this sweet Sting Ray rolls as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards.

Choice styling wrapped in unique paint is one thing. But, for this Vette to be completely over-the-top, the restorers added a full roster of handpicked details. At the front of the car, polished bumpers center a stainless-trimmed grille between amber, bullet-style parking lamps. Behind those lamps, a '66-exclusive hood points custom striping at fresh cross-flags and a familiar Sting Ray hood script. Polished stainless wipers clear an ornate, stainless-trimmed greenhouse that's capped by a custom Haartz Stayfast top. At the edges of those blades, a louvered profile floats polished handles and a stylish bowtie mirror above subtle rocker trim and boastful 427 emblems. And at the back of the car, two more polished bumpers join a polished tag pocket under an intricate fuel filler, dual-mode taillights and a requisite Sting Ray deck script.

TRI-POWER 427

Professionally assembled and fully sorted, this Vette's divine Chevrolet big block twists big power into big fun! At the top of that monster mill, a billet Demon air cleaner wraps a low profile filter around three Demon deuces. Those electronically choked carbs drop energy through a Barry Grant Triple D Six Shooter Induction intake. That lightweight plane feeds polished Brodix heads, which tilt polished Chevrolet valve covers under polished billet breathers. The fires get lit by a billet MSD distributor, which sequences spark between an MSD Blaster SS coil and loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Polished Street & Performance serpentine components spin a polished Edelbrock water pump between a chrome alternator and a chrome AC compressor. Spent gases rumble rowdy side-pipes thanks to Rewarder Custom Headers. There's a proven DeWitts radiator that's slid in front of dual SPAL puller fans. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the high performance mill rolls in a glossy, body-matched engine bay that's dotted with niceties like braided lines, billet tanks and an Optima gel cell battery.

GO LIKE NEW!

Park this Sting Ray on a lift and you'll see where traditional literally transitions to fresh! A first class Street Shop chassis employs a fully independent fourth-generation Corvette suspension that's finished with modern Aldan coil-overs. Behind the stout big block, a smooth 700R4 4-speed, sourced directly from TCI Automotive, twists power to a requisite Dana 44 differential. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Smooth and solid stops are provided by C4-spec calipers, which utilize electronic power assist to squeeze 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors. And polished Billet Specialties SLG45s, spinning up to an appropriate 17 inches in diameter, add a nice finishing touch to the car's aggressive stance.

SIMPLE IS GOOD

Slip in to this coupe's delightfully customized cockpit and settle on firm leather buckets that were cribbed directly from a fifth-generation Corvette. A tri-tone dash founds crisp AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite telemetry beside a Classic Instruments clock, controls for Corvette Central air conditioning and modern, direct-fit audio. A shallow console traces a tasteful shifter in front of custom wood cupholders. The car's two-tone leather looks great sailing a two-tone floor between billet-trimmed side panels. And the driver spins a stylish Billet Specialties Fast Lane steering wheel around a tilting Flaming River column.

Featuring proven Chevrolet power, this Corvette is a blast to drive, and it certainly has no trouble turning heads just sitting still. The car's fresh looks and virtually limitless performance honor the late '60s Americana we all know and love. At the same time, custom flair and modern build prowess make it an amazing place to log countless weekend miles. Don't miss your chance to own a standout Sting Ray that'll keep people gawking for years to come!
