For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Nova in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

Yes, this is real deal V8 SS with an extremely well done restoration! This one has the ultimate motor available for the 1966 Chevrolet II Nova SS, and only a few were produced. So the stampede you're hearing is the rush for this rare 327 V8 hardtop.

The factory-correct Marina Blue was given a high-quality respray within the last few years. It sets the tone right for a rare car with a well-respected pedigree. The sunlight loves to roll evenly across the high-gloss finish and emphasize the Nova's clean, straight lines. Bright wraparound chrome bumpers, SS ribbed rockers, factory wheel covers, and an elegant Super Sport script on each rear fender are all part of this detailed package. So while Novas love to be sleeper sports cars, this one also knows how to show off the right power and poise.

This SS came the right way from the factory with a blue interior and bucket seats, so why mess with a good formula? Instead, just like the exterior, there's been investment in preservation and restoration to make this a stellar interior that feels like a time capsule. Everything looks factory-correct, from the bright accents on the door panels to the heat/defrost controls. It really is a detail-oriented classic style, right down to the spatter paint in the trunk and working AM radio. Even the dome light still greets you when you open the door. The stylized steering wheel gives it all a nice upscale touch, and beyond that are the wide, clear gauges you love on a 1960s American icon. Plus, the bright center console is another hallmark of the SS package.

The 118 in the vin proves this real SS came with a v8 from the factory. Under the hood is one of the best small-block v8 motors of the muscle car era. The L79 327 cubic-inch V8 is a legend for an advertised 350 hp right off the showroom floor. This powerplant has the matching vin number stamped on the front of the engine block, however we are unsure if they are the original stamps or reproduced at a late date. Because people will want to see this icon, it is ready for show duty with the polished air grabber and valve covers in the tidy engine bay. But a car like this is really meant to be driven. After all, the lightweight hardtop coupe body makes it one of the best muscle cars on the streets, especially when mated to an upgraded Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission. That's why we really love this one. It's a stunner that has also been maintained to be a proper driver. Power steering, power brakes, and Goodyear Eagle GT II tires are all there to make sure you'll love taking this hardtop to the car shows.

The sale of this real V8 SS comes complete with the warranty card and owner's manual. The trim tag shows this car originally came from the factory with a power glide transmission which is what holds us back from calling this a true L79. With the Muncie 4 speed now in it, this car presents how a real L79 would have from the factory, if not better!
