Vehicle Description
1953 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
After WWII Chevrolets first major redesign for their trucks came
with the introduction of the "Advance-Design" Pickups. These trucks
were marketed as larger, stronger, but also sleeker than their
previous designs. They were produced mostly unchanged from 1947 to
1955. During those same years Chevrolet was number 1 in sales for
trucks so it is clear they got something right. 3100 was applied to
their 1/2 ton Pickups and although the beautiful 1953 you see here
might have started life as a plain jane 3100 it has been completely
transformed into a retro looking but modern driving machine. If
Chevrolet decided to bring back the 1953 3100 we don't think even
they could do this good of a job. This is one of those vehicles
where there is no way our pictures, video or description can come
close to doing it justice. You truly have to see it in person to
take in all that is going on. Every where you look there is a sleek
feature that catches your eye. It was completed in June of 2019 and
was a complete body off nut and bolt restomod build. Every
component was carefully thought out and the result is a work of
art. If we leave out a feature in our description you can be
assured it is of the highest quality.
The completely rust free body is coated in an base coat/clear coat
Corvette Admiral Blue paint that is so slick it doesn't look like
it has dried. It has a beautiful shine out in the sun and is
combined with Black running boards which add a nice contrast. The
paint/body was all done by Advantage Autoworks in North Richland
Hills, Texas who is known for their quality work. The underside of
the cab and fenders have all paint done in a matching rhino liner.
The modified smoothed front and rear bumpers have a beautiful shine
as does that iconic 5 bar grill. Both bumpers have been pulled into
towards the body and the rear has a custom recess for the license
plate. All of the stainless/chrome throughout is brand new and it
shows. All of the exposed bolts are stainless steel and most of
them button head. The truck still has its two piece windshield and
all of the new tinted glass is in great shape and framed in
stainless trim. It has the original style LED headlights but in
back the LED taillights have been modified to now frame the
tailgate. This thing has never seen the rain but if you happen to
be caught off guard it does have electric windshield wipers from
New Port Engineering. You can't mention a classic truck without
taking a look in the bed and this one has been totally redone in
pecan wood with 5 coats of clear polyurethane and stainless bed
strips with hidden mounting bolts. Even the bed sides and taillgate
are custom pieces from Mar-K Inc. The doors all have Trique
Manufacturing Altman Easy Latch Bearclaw latches which improve both
the look and functionality of the doors. The level of detail on
this truck is so well done and a good example is even the circular
openings on those bed sides have been filled. This Pickup has an
awesome stance and rides on a set of American legend wheels wrapped
with Cooper tires that are like new. The fronts are 17 inch and
rear 18 inch.
If you thought the exterior was beautiful just take a look under
the hood. Where you would originally find an inline 6 cylinder now
sits the powerful 6.2L LS3 motor. This is part of the Chevrolet
Connect and Cruise package which comes with a brand new motor as
well as a smooth shifting new 4L65E automatic transmission. It
isn't all about performance though because this is definitely a
motor you are going to want to show off. The entire engine
compartment has been finished out in the same Blue paint as the
exterior and looks great. The motor features a front runner system
by Vintage Air, modified Blue GTO coil covers and a custom air
filter box outside of the motor for the cold air intake. Even in
the Texas heat the truck runs cool thanks to the custom built
aluminum Griffin radiator with 16 inch cooling fan. If your a gear
head you know the importance of a vehicles sound and this thing
does not disappoint with 2 and 1/2 inch polished stainless steel
exhaust with Gibson Performance mufflers. The truck is a breeze to
cruise around in with its power rack and pinion steering and power
brakes. The brakes are all Wilwood discs and it has a new vacuum
booster plus a Wilwood master cylinder mounted underneath. It also
features the very unique E-Stopp electric parking brake system.
This push button setup not only is an emergency brake but can also
act as an anti theft device as most people are going to have no
clue how to disengage it. Underneath the truck leaves nothing to
disappoint as everything is extremely clean. It sits on a complete
TCI custom chassis that is all powder coated black. It has a 4 link
rear suspension with Ride Tech adjustable coilovers. In back is
also the Currie 9 inch Ford rear with 3.50 gear ratio. Other
features include the complete American Autowire harness and 22
gallon custom made aluminum fuel tank by Boyd Welding that is
powder coated Black. You might wonder where to fill it up but on
the drivers side rear fender there is a small flush mounted cap.
This is a nice alternative from putting the filler in the bed like
you typically see.
The interior was done by Xtreme Upholstery out of Denton, Texas and
is all European leather. The bench seat is out of a 1997 Chevrolet
pickup and has a folding back. The floors are covered in German
square weave carpeting and it has a custom 1 piece floor mat. Also
on the floor is a Lokar shifter in a leather boot. The dash is
beautifully painted and topped off with new Classic Instruments
gauges which give you all you need to monitor the trucks vitals
with a modern finish in the stock mounts. In front of the driver
sits a painted to match Ididit steering column topped off with a
leather wrapped steering wheel by Con2R. The RetroSound radio
delivers all your favorite tunes and cleanly mounts in the stock
position to avoid having to cut up the original dash.
With all of the extremely well done customizations this truck
features there is no question that there is something we haven't
mentioned. It takes RestoMods to new heights and this truck will
easily win awards all over the country. In person it becomes very
obvious how well it has been built.
With the amount that is invested there is no way you could recreate
it for our asking price of $107,500.00!
