This 1959 Desoto Firesweep Sportsman 4-door hardtop was made in the
last year of Virgil Exner's "forward look" design and the last full
year for Desoto as a brand. Only 2,875 of this model were made in
the last full year of production. Repainted along the line to the
Aztec Silver Metallic over Glacier Blue Metallic (original DeSoto
colors) you see today. Paint has a nice shine to it and looks great
against all the chrome and brightwork. Powered by a 361 V8 (295hp)
engine that is paired with a 3-speed push-button TorqueFlite
automatic transmission. Nicely equipped with power steering and
power brakes. Riding on the Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with white
walls. Original blue cloth and vinyl bench seat interior with
automatic push-button on the dash, seats are in good condition with
seat belts up front. AM radio works as it should on this car. Other
things that come with this car include: original wheels, wheel
covers, manual, brochures, and car cover. The brake hoses were
recently replaced. Technicians also noted the fuel gauge and wipers
are inop. Horn, blower fan, and radio are working. Stock sounding
Desoto!
