Vehicle Description
This is a delightfully cute Mercedes 240D sedan. Finished in Ivory
beige with Brown MB-tex, the car presents in very nice and
certainly way above average condition. This was a Californian &
Texan car for most of its life and in later years resided in Maine.
The car has had 3 owners (first 2 in California) who added most of
the mileage as a town commuter. It was later owned in Maine by an
elderly chap who used her sparingly. She was a regularly maintained
example and recently serviced. Mechanically the car is in good
shape with no known issues. Just a quick look under the hood is
testament to how well this Mercedes has been maintained, with
several new genuine Mercedes Benz parts used to include the
battery. She drives strong and sure. No rattles and looseness over
rough roads but tight and firm. Body and paint is pretty good. She
does have some rust bubble popping through on some panels but
interestingly enough, the underside is relatively rust free and
clean. Just a few spots on the exterior body panels as shown. The
chrome wheel arch mouldings cover up a few spots as well. The car
is accident free and the paint mostly original (hood previously
repainted). It is very shiny and consistent with only minor chips
here and there but nothing glaringly so. There is no crazing or
cracks in the paint. A good indication of how a W123 has been
garaged is the headlights and grille. These are in very good
condition with no "chalking" of the headlight louvres. The interior
is in lovely condition with the interior only showing modest use.
She is in great shape with no unsightly wear on the seats, carpets
or headliner. The dash does have a couple of small cracks but far
less than typical. The wood inserts are great. Have a close look at
the buttons and switch gear; they are all in good condition. The
trunk is super clean with its original rubber mat in good
condition. She is also a non-smoker car so clean and sweet. The car
presents with all its original features including its factory
Becker radio. A/C blows cool, not cold so attention is needed
there. The antennae does not fully retract but pretty much
everything else is doing what it should. Tyres are brand new,
fitted on original MB wheels with factory hubcaps. A set of
Mercedes mud-flaps with white logos finish off the car nicely, I
think. Not much more can be said but to invite you to take a close
look at the many, many photos of this great Mercedes 240D sedan.
Truly in good condition, not a show-car by any means but a
beautiful example nonetheless. Surely amongst one of the better
examples available for sale today.
