eight passengers comfortably; nine passengers in pinch Almost 60
years later, Volkswagen?s bus is still a popular draw among
enthusiasts. This 15-window bus has been recently fully restored
and is one of the cutest VW buses we have had in awhile! The
restoration is striking and we absolutely love the window
treatments and roof racks! This van is dressed in beige over red
and features dual roof rack with ladder access on the driver?s
side. The paint and trim are in overall excellent order. The
bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is immaculate, the
cargo bay is clean and tidy. The Hella headlights look great and
the white metal bumpers with bumper guards fit tightly to the body.
This van rolls on Pirelli white stripe radials, size 185/14 at
every corner. Each tire is mounted to a steel wheel with chrome
hubcaps and beige beauty rings. The wheels and tires are all in
very good condition. Out back is a 52HP 1.5L flat, air-cooled
four-cylinder engine that is tied to a four-speed manual
transmission. Inside there is all new beige duragrain vinyl seats,
complete with side and rear window curtains. This hauls eight
people comfortably and nine people in a pinch. The seats and
headliner are in very good order. The tan carpet is in excellent
order. There is a two-spoke, black steering wheel adds contrast to
the interior and looks great. The beige metal dash looks great and
offers an almost vehicle-side storage shelf. The door liners are in
very good order. The correct speedometer is from VDO. A
floor-mounted shift lever completes the interior. Among American
enthusiasts, it is common to refer to the different models by the
number of their windows. The basic Kombi or Bus is the 11-window
(a.k.a. three-window bus because of three side windows) with a
split windshield, two front cabin door windows, six rear side
windows, and one rear window. The DeLuxe model featured eight rear
side windows and two rear corner windows, making it the 15-window
(not available in Europe). Competition to this VW Bus in 1974
included Chevrolet?s Corvair Greenbrier van and G-10 van, Dodge?s
new A-100 van, Ford?s Econoline van and GMC?s Handi-van. If you are
interested in a classic VW Van, this might be the one for you. Stop
