Vehicle Description
1971 Ford Mustang Mach I Boss 351C/C* First, in the interest of
absolute accuracy, the C/C in the title refers to an old-fashioned
carbon copy. This Mustang Mach 1 is a tribute car, built to the
specs of the Boss 351 issue from Ford. The VIN is 1F05H156380. This
car left the Flint assembly line with a 351 Windsor mill, but that
was kicked to the side of the road when this Mach I was discovered
30 years ago in disassembled condition. Over several years it was
completely renewed and painstakingly rebuilt and reborn. It now has
strong running gear that gives the kind of performance as the
factory components: A fully rebuilt 10:1 compression 351C HO mill
rated at over horsepower; Hurst shifted top loader 4 speed manual
transmission; TractionLok 9 inch rear end; Ram-Air hood, front air
dam, and rear spoiler. With front and rear sway bars, Koni shocks,
frame connectors, heavy duty leaf springs, and aluminized tailpipes
and mufflers, this Mustang looks like, and performs like, the
factory built Boss 351. The only real difference is the price. In
the current marketplace, a numbers matching Ford Mustang Boss 351
in this condition carries a price tag at between $75,000 and
$100,000, (assuming that it can be verified to be real with a Marti
report). On the other hand, THIS CAR has virtually identical
features; it is essentially new with just 1750 miles on the
odometer since restoration - and it can be driven every day,
anywhere, without scrubbing off thousands of dollars in collector
car value. This outstanding Mustang fastback can be purchased at
HALF THE AVERAGE PRICE of the original, but you can enjoy driving
it instead of kicking the tires as it ages in a collection. And,
driving it is a blast! The high revving Cleveland makes beautiful
music and acceleration will push you back in the seat when the go
fast pedal is mashed. Inside, the car has flawless black vinyl and
suede bucket seats, excellent door panels, dash cover, and
headliner, an optional fold-down rear seat.
