Vehicle Description
This 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has the great look of a
classic that has been given good investments over the years. It
makes for the kind of drop-top you'll want to drive everywhere.
After all, you get to enjoy the fuel-injected V8, and everyone gets
to enjoy the sight of an impressively sleek classic.
The paint is a nice standout on this car. We have a receipt showing
$$$$ thousands invested in a full respray in 2007, and it still
retains a radiant metallic glow in the light that's perfect for a
sunshine-friendly convertible like this. The color holds close to
1986's Dark Red Metallic, and we especially like how it has the
excitement of red but gives it an added sophistication. It makes
for a dignified appearance. It also harmonizes with the black on
the folding top and body accent strip that encircles this car. Good
body lines, clean factory alloys, and an overall quality appearance
really makes for an attractive drop-top.
Just like the exterior red, the graphite grey interior has a great
sophisticated tone. Plus, a receipt from 2012 documents a nice
interior investment that includes the leather seat covers. A good
Corvette is a terrifically loaded machine, and so this one has
power windows, power locks, cruise control, working courtesy
lights, and provisions for factory air conditioning (it will need
servicing to blow cold again.) The radio has even been upgraded to
give you the best in driving music. It's an AM/FM/CD unit with a
USB input for your iPod and a subwoofer in the rear. The power
adjustments and level of bolstering on the bucket seats remind you
that this is a driver's car. That feeling is furthered by the
dual-spoke steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. It's a setup
specially designed to give you a clear view of the unique full
digital gauge panel.
The L98 350 cubic-inch V8 is a great motor. It gave you the hardy
reputation of the small block with the added power and consistency
of the excellent Tuned-Port Injection system. This created a motor
with a wonderfully versatile powerband that still delivers the
right Corvette growl from the dual exhaust. And the C4 was also
made to be a great grand touring machine. With a four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive, four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS,
power steering, and a fully independent suspension, this
convertible is great for enjoying on trips near or far.
This is a shining classic with a terrific driving personality. So
