With 89k miles, this showroom condition, all original Colorado/Arizona SC 400 comes with a clean Car Fax and complete dealer service history from Day 1, which I acquired through a former Lexus corporate executive. Hard to believe the car is 30 years old. It is in exceptional condition. Turn the key and go.
The SC 400 was Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year for 1992, and made the Car & Driver Top Ten for five years in a row. This was a very expensive car for 1992 with a MSRP of $43,994.
MECHANICAL
The car has been gone through by one of my pro mechanic shops. All fluids, belts, hoses, filters, etc. were replaced as needed. To be honest it didn’t require much due to previous owner’s meticulous care. The motor is smooth and powerful, shifts effortlessly and quietly. No drips, leaks or apparent mechanical issues.
Photos of the engine bay, suspension and undercarriage reveal this car’s ASTONISHINGLY clean mechanics with virtually no corrosion or damage. Floor pans show glossy paint and factory chalk marks/tags. All Lexus’s were factory undercoated before shipment to USA.
I have three original keys, leather bound owner’s manual set, original jack and spare, and a very thick dealer service history from Day 1 that I was able to acquire from a former Lexus corporate executive.
BODY/PAINT
The car retains its original metallic gold paint, still very glossy and nearly flawless. Car panels are straight. Stainless and gold trim pieces are nearly perfect. Glass and rubber seals are all very good condition. No accidents or damage reported on the clean Car Fax.
INTERIOR
Extremely clean, non-smoker, no odors. Leather seats are supple with almost no wear. Dash appears factory fresh, no cracks or blemishes. Center console and door panels and armrests are pristine, including all the wood grain pieces. Carpeting is in great condition with no noticeable stains or wear-through. Clean Lexus floor mats front and rear. Headliner and sun visors are very nice with working vanity lights.
Dash controls and power window and power seat features are fully operational and blemish-free. Power sunroof and power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The automatic climate control, premium eight-speaker, 280-watt Nakamichi sound system with factory 12-CD changer in trunk, cruise control, courtesy lights, and other interior electronic features are fully functional. Heated power front seats adjust in multiple directions and have power lumbar supports. There is a two-position memory for driver entry and exit.

The 1992 SC 400 was outfitted with the legendary Toyota 1UZ FE 4 Liter engine, revered for its impeccable reliability, power and design. This motor became the basis for one of the only car engines approved by the FAA for aviation use, both fixed wing and helicopter.
ROAD HANDLING
The car is an absolute pleasure to drive. It accelerates very quickly with a subtle growl. I’ve had the car at high speed with AC on full in the Arizona desert heat, with no overheating or other issues. Engine and transmission are connected electronically with smooth precise shifts based on speed and load, with selectable 'Normal' and 'Power' modes . There is a seamless flow of power with no hesitation or jerkiness between shifts. The SC 400 performs like a sport touring coupe should with:
Variable assist power steering
Double wishbone front and rear strut suspension
Coil over spring assist
Front and rear stabilization
Electronic full range traction control
Four wheel anti-lock disc brakes
Limited slip differential
16 inch custom Velox wheels
P225/55VR/16 Pirelli sport-touring radials
INVESTMENT
The car’s distinctive look emulates its Toyota stable-mate, the Supra MK4, with essentially the same chassis and body style, though the Supra came with a turbo-charged six cylinder. The Supra's have proven to be very popular with customizers and hot-rodders, and professionally well-done examples now range from $50k to $100k. For that reason, enthusiasts and investors are turning to the Lexus SC 400 as the go-to, undervalued sleeper. Now’s the time.
