Only 2,090 FRC's (Fixed Roof Coupe) were made in 2000 making this
the rarest of C5 Corvette models. Yes, the bean counters at GM
wanted an "inexpensive" Corvette to help increase flagging unit
sales. So, the engineers at GM designed the "inexpensive" fixed
roof, hardtop version. But, in order to make the car attractive to
the "racing" community, they decided to make it a performance model
with a manual transmission only and Z51 suspension - the pathway to
the C5 Z06. An unexpected consequence of the "cheap corvette" was
that the FRC allowed the suspension to better handle all that 345
horsepower with racer-like response thanks to the 12 percent
increase in structural rigidity!
If you don't have a FRC in your collection, now is the time to get
a low mile example.
This car comes with new Factory Z06 custom painted wheels and tires
with only 1,500 miles on them. New Bilstein shocks and Z06 brake
ducts.
