Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1930 Ford Model A
Roadster, an attractive example that has been lightly and
tastefully modified into a period-correct hot rod. Finished in
black with dark purple accents, a canvas convertible top and red
interior - at first glance, the car appears black overall but under
direct sunlight you can see that the dash and beltline contours are
a subtle deep purple shade. The grille is from a '32 Ford for a
streamlined look. Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with Firestone tires are
also a nice touch. Interior and rumble seat are upholstered in red
vinyl in excellent condition. Top irons and canvas top replaced
recently along with a new windshield and frame.
Under the hood is a 201 cubic inch Model A flathead four-cylinder -
the engine was fully rebuilt (block was line bored, crank was
turned, new bearings, pistons, cam reground, new timing gears,
water pump, valve guides, hardened valve seats, etc). Transmission
also rebuilt plus new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and
resurfaced flywheel. Additional upgrades include a 12-volt
electrical system with alternator and all new wiring, a four-blade
fan, modern distributor with electronic ignition, and turn signals.
Steering, suspension and brake systems have also been restored and
upgraded with new tie rod ends, rebuilt steering gearbox, new
springs and bushings and most importantly, all new hydraulic brakes
(a tremendous upgrade in stopping ability from the old mechanical
brakes).
Thanks to the restoration and upgrades, this is one the best
driving Model As that has come through our shop. For more
