Vehicle Description
The Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer edition was the ideal way to merge
loaded luxury and a cool 4x4 SUV. And this 1996 is the final year
for the generation. That means the best of the evolution with a
cool two-tone, a loaded A/C interior, an overdrive transmission,
and a powerful fuel-injected V8.
The Bronco is an everlasting symbol of 4x4 toughness, and teaming
up with the outdoor-oriented Eddie Bauer was just a natural fit.
They gave this stout machine an added look of sophistication. After
all, black and tan are timelessly attractive, and this one does it
especially well. The black was given a respray later in life to
retain a good luster, and the tan is thoughtfully chic on the
rockers and beltline pinstripe. And while the hardtop still is
removable for that cool convertible look, the color coordinates
well with the accents, and so it looks terrific in place. It's
unknown if the odometer represents the Bronco's actual mileage, but
the overall appearance signals the right care and investments over
the years. That's why the premium chrome bumpers shine brightly and
the doors close with confidence. But more than just look great,
this never loses its functional side thanks to handy features like
the well-integrated side steps, full-size spare on a swing-away
mount (with a brand new cover still in the box,) and the proper
trailer hitch.
The interior gives you more of the premium look with nice tan
leather seats with the Eddie Bauer logo stitched in the headrests.
These front buckets have fold-down armrests and a cup holder center
console in-between for long-haul comfort. In fact, the whole setup
is made to be quite luxurious with cold-blowing R134a air
conditioning, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, a
tilt steering column, and an upgraded AM/FM stereo with USB and
Bluetooth. And having the final year of this generation means the
best they offered in safety, including a driver's airbag and
anti-lock brakes. The rear seat has adult-sized legroom, and the
cargo bay is positively massive. So this one is ideal for
tailgating, too.
The 5.8-liter V8 was the optional motor, so it's always great to
have the big one under the hood. It's a modern factory
fuel-injection powerhouse, and that means an ideal setup for better
acceleration on the streets and extra power off-road. And this
versatile nature is at the heart of the Bronco's appeal. You are
off-road ready with deep treads on the General Grabber tires and a
proper floor shift to engage the two-speed 4x4 transfer case. And
it's also everyday easy with power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and a four-speed transmission with highway-ready
overdrive.
