Vehicle Description
This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette impresses with its history, including
the numbers-matching V8, and a cool/correct color combo. Plus, it's
also impressive for the newer suspension components that make it a
great driver. But the most extraordinary part is that this full
package is offered for a value price.
This was the first year for the new fastback styling on the C3. It
offered a sleeker/smooth appearance, and the factory-correct Silver
Metallic knows how to highlight it quite nicely. That's because it
was given a respray later in life to retain a smooth shine. The
raised cowl hood, bright rally wheel, and dual exhaust tips are all
part of the C3's sporty style. Plus, there are unique details to
point out everywhere from the upgraded rear spoiler to the special
badging that reminds us all that 1978 was the Corvette's 25th
anniversary.
The interior is a distinct saffron color. It's also known as
mahogany, and that seems fitting here considering there's an
attractive wood-like trim added to the center console. This one is
both well-preserved and optioned to deliver grand touring style
comfort. You have high-back bucket seats finished in leather, the
electric rear defogger, the Delco AM/FM stereo, and recently
recharged R134a air conditioning. Of course, the T-tops let you
share all of this with the world. There are some details you may
want to update, like the tach or blend doors on the A/C. But
overall, the charm here is having a distinctly colored interior
that is exceptionally original.
Lift the hood and you see more of a true classic presentation. The
350 cubic-inch L-48 motor is the numbers-matching powerplant. This
V8 has a very stock style with a history of good maintenance and a
touch of flair with the polished valve covers. So it fires up
easily, runs smoothly, and the Dynomax mufflers deliver a sweet
sound. This is mated to the numbers-matching TH350 three-speed
automatic transmission. There's also power steering, and four-wheel
power disc brakes for an easy driver. This has newer items like
shocks, brakes, and trailing arms. The differential was also
upgraded, and it's believed to be a 3.55 Positraction unit that
makes this feel both versatile and confident out on the road.
The sale comes complete with a maintenance record file, service
manuals, and a spare alternator. It all makes for a great classic
cruising coupe offered for a great price. Call today!!!
