Vehicle Description
With a cool and coordinated color combo and upgraded V8 power, this
1966 Ford Mustang is one of those complete classics that was made
for you to get out there and enjoy the drive.
When we say this is a driver's classic, that starts with the first
impression. The red paint with solid black rocker stripe is part of
an aggressive package. And the bight alloys certainly add to the
aggression, too (after all the style of the wheel is called
Outlaw.) Even the dual exhaust tips are a bit wider. So there's
that right touch of street machine attitude. But there's also more
going on here. The rocker stripe goes with the side trim and
premium black vinyl roof to really let this pony car go beyond
intimidation and just have pure distinction.
The black accents of the outside are also a nice preview of the
full black interior. It has a good look with a smooth dash, fresh
carpeting, and nice upholstery. There are even some cool hints of
upgraded carbon fiber trim (after all, this Mustang enjoys being
distinctive.) It's quite a comfortable package that was built to be
a cruiser. You sit down in a low-back bucket seat and grab the
grippy three-spoke steering wheel. And the T-handle shifter is a
great place to rest your right hand.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay make some of the elements of
the motor pop. That's why you really see the high-polish air
grabber, shining tower braces, and bold blue block in the middle.
This one is worth the extra attention because the 302 cubic-inch V8
is an upgrade to something larger than what was available in 1966.
The larger V8 also inhales deeper thanks to an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor. Plus, the belts, wires, and hoses have the
tidy look of a well-respected machine. It fires up readily and
makes a nice tune out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. And features like
the three-speed automatic transmission and wide BF Goodrich T/As
make good a fun driver without ever losing the vintage feel.
Power, distinction, and affordability come together on this iconic
