For Sale: 1967 Volkswagen Beetle in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

With the Volksrod scene steadily growing across the country, it's about time we offered one to you. This is about starting with a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle and applying some cool old-school custom practices to create a unique and fun drop-top that's a blast to drive.

This is like looking at a '32 Ford roadster that speaks with a German accent. The recipe starts with the lovable Beetle, but then adds in some serious attitude. It begins with removing the fenders and smoothing the inner panels. Move up the front suspension, add larger rear tires, and give it the stance of a street machine. Add in plenty of cool touches like the Pete and Jake's style nerf bumpers, polished slotted mags, and headlights and taillights within the fender wells. Then add on top of that the perfect shade of slick bright red to grab everyone's attention.

The red interior has a great look for a custom like this with a distinct style on the seats and door panels. The setup is nicely built around the driver with front bucket seats and a banjo-style sports wheel on a tilt column. Plus, the upgraded marine-grade AutoMeter gauges have the speedomoeter prominently in the center, and that goes great with the four-speed stick shift. The height of the roof when folded makes the added backup camera handy. But we actually like the setup of the clean black folding top. Because as custom as the full package is, it seems to still give you the classic-style Beetle folding roof. And with proper roll-up windows, this hot rod style machine still knows how to seal out the weather with style and quality.

Just like a classic hot rod, the engine bay is ready to be on full display. You have a polished floor, fan shroud, and even the Dynamat on the firewall gives a good shine. At the center is a well-built air-cooled powerhouse. This is a 1835cc motor, which is larger than anything the factory gave these Bugs. There are also additions like dual carbs, a Flamethrower coil, and an upgraded dual exhaust. The motor starts with the same hardy eagerness you love in a VW. And you're going to love hitting the road with upgrades like the tubular A-arm front suspension, adjustable front coilovers, front disc brakes, and Bilstein rear shocks.

You're likely never going to find another custom roadster out there guaranteed to grab as much attention or put as big a smile on your face for this low of a price. The Volksrod crowd is growing, but that doesn't mean you're ever going to find one like this again anytime soon. Call today!!!
