This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a fun to drive, mild
custom with southern history. The third iteration of the second
generation, "C2" Corvette debuted in 1965. Chevrolet made only
minor stylistic changes including three new functional vertical
louvers located behind the front wheels on the front fenders, a new
blacked out horizontal bar grille, and updated bright aluminum
rocker panel moldings. Keeping up with their "True American Sports
Car" theme for the Corvette, the most significant changes to the
'65 Corvette were new performance-oriented options. Most
significantly, Chevrolet's big block was introduced in mid-March
1965 to the Corvette in the form of a 396 V8 and 4 wheel
"Sport-Master" disc brakes became standard equipment across every
Corvette model. The new side louvers were also performance focused
because they improved air flow (and thus cooling) in the engine
compartment. The plush interiors for the '65 Corvettes were also
updated in 1965 including newly redesigned seats and door panels
and the instrument cluster was now painted flat black. This
particular Corvette Convertible comes to us from a southern-based
collector who clearly enjoyed taking this baby out for some muscle
car exercise. Powering this '65 Corvette is an upgraded 454 Cubic
Inch V8 paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that together
provide plenty of power. The NOM 454 Big Block V8 is hooked up to a
4 speed manual transmission that makes this Convertible an absolute
blast to drive. Dual exhaust gives this Chevy a nice throaty sound.
Riding on 4 whitewall radial tires with standard spinner wheel
covers, this 65 'Vette has a fantastic look and an even better
ride. Like nearly all Corvettes back in 1965, this particular car
features 4 wheel disc brakes which provide improved stopping power
given all that extra muscle under the hood. The white vinyl
convertible soft top is manually operated and is in fantastic
condition. The fiberglass body on this classic Corvette has been
beautifully refinished in Glen Green which gives this car an
elevated exterior look. The interior of this '65 Corvette is
absolutely beautiful! The bucket seats have been reupholstered in a
beautiful Saddle Leather further adding to the luxurious look and
feel of the car. The dash, door panels, and woodgrain steering
wheel are all in fantastic condition and appear to be in their
stock configuration. The instrument cluster has a cockpit look and
is equipped with a 160 MPH speedometer, 7,000 RPM tachometer,
temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, amp gauge, and fuel gauge.
Also incorporated into the dash of this Corvette is an AM radio and
clock. Whether you're looking for your very first classic car or
you'll be parking this 'Vette in your existing fleet of Sting Rays,
this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible would be an excellent
addition. Give us a call today!
