The 1951 Ford Victoria is a special vehicle that delivers a
cool-cruising hardtop with premium details. So it's great to find
one that was restored with an eye to make sure you can showcase its
distinct vintage style, right down to the flathead V8 power.
The '49 Ford may have been the company's new design for post-war
America, but the evolution to the '51 Victoria was the real symbol
that a new era had begun. It was an upper-level model on the Custom
Deluxe trim line that now gave you a pillar-less hardtop coupe
style. Plus, details like the wraparound rear glass, rear fender
skirts, and awesome tail light trim set the new Victoria apart on
the boulevards. And because this car was so distinct, we really
like how it is presented today. The restoration on this one is a
bit older, but you can tell it has been treated with care. The
result is nice-looking body lines and a great glow from the
metallic brown paint, but there are also the right hints of patina.
So some people may just assume you have one of the best barn finds
around (and you don't have to pay us extra to keep your secret.)
And everything from the roof done in a distinctive tan to the
color-matched wheel with factory hubcaps is pure vintage cool.
The interior gets the style right for a driver's classic. It's a
detail lover's coupe with the two-piece windshield, textured steel
dash, classic dual-spoke steering wheel, and even the AM radio is
still there for a display. And just like the exterior, there are
the right hints of patina. But this Ford also knows how to be a
proper cruiser. The door panels, carpets, and upholstery with comfy
cloth inserts all feel much fresher and newer so that going for a
drive feels quite inviting.
It's easy to recognize Ford's 239 cubic-inch Flathead V8, and this
one really displays it to fit this car perfectly. It's clean,
complete, and boldly done in green, but there's the right hint of
age to make sure everyone recognizes it's a respected classic. And
in fact, the way this one fires up easily and runs strong reaffirms
its respected care. This one loves to feel like a vintage cruiser
on the road, including the column-shifted three-speed manual
transmission that gives you full control. But there are a few of
the right upgrades you want, like newer cruising tires and a true
dual exhaust.
This is a landmark Ford that is presented with all the vintage
style and esteem it deserves. So you know it makes for an
irresistible hardtop classic, especially at this affordable price.
