The year of 1974 was the end of the road for the Jaguar E-Type. Perhaps the most celebrated car to carry the Jaguar name, the E-Type remained elegant, sophisticated, and sporting throughout its production run. The Series 3 V-12 models were touted as being wonderful grand tourers, capable of cruising all day at high speed and incredibly comfortable while doing so.
Considered by many to be the quintessential British Sports Car, the Jaguar E-Type’s unveiling in 1961 caused a sensation both with the press and in the public eye. Admirers came from all walks of life; even Enzo Ferrari referred to it as “the most beautiful car ever made”.
