The year of 1974 was the end of the road for the Jaguar E-Type. Perhaps the most celebrated car to carry the Jaguar name, the E-Type remained elegant, sophisticated, and sporting throughout its production run. The Series 3 V-12 models were touted as being wonderful grand tourers, capable of cruising all day at high speed and incredibly comfortable while doing so.
Considered by many to be the quintessential British Sports Car, the Jaguar E-Type’s unveiling in 1961 caused a sensation both with the press and in the public eye. Admirers came from all walks of life; even Enzo Ferrari referred to it as “the most beautiful car ever made”. Beneath its gorgeous looks was a revolutionary sports car with rack and pinion steering, fully independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes with inward rear rotors. All of this was propelled by the already proven performance of the XK engine.
The magnificent Jaguar E-type Series III featured here is finished in gorgeous black over black leather interior and matching folding convertible top. This incredible motorcar has been driven a mere 22,775 miles from new and has been meticulously maintained and recently restored to show or drive. Fitted with every available option including the factory air conditioning, chrome wire wheels, power steering and desirable four speed manual transmission. We are proud to offer this investment grade Jaguar e-type roadster to the most sophisticated investor collector or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the investment potential of this iconic motorcar.
