For Sale: 1956 Ford F100 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

The Ford F-series is known across the world as a hardworking truck. That reputation is a big part of why it's earned the title of America's Bestselling Vehicle for 40 consecutive years. Of course, a lifetime of dedicated service should be rewarded and, for a few chosen trucks, a leisurely retirement on the show field awaits. This '56 Ford F100 is one of those privileged few. The product of an extensive, frame-off build, every inch of this beast is ready for play and primed for display. Featuring 429 cubic inches of iconic big block, it was built for sunny day cruising. And, mixing a custom, air conditioned cockpit with a roster choice modifications, this Ford is destined to stand out! In the market for a world class F100? Settle in and take a long look at our latest pet pickup!

LIGHT THE TORCH!

Wrapping inexorable hot rod swagger in classic good looks, the father of Ford's legendary F-Series has always been a highly desirable line of trucks. And not surprisingly, gearheads, customizers and 65 years' worth of fans have elevated it to one of street rodding's greatest cultural icons. Benefitting from a detailed, ground-up restoration that was completed by Gastonia, North Carolina's Rick's Body Shop, this trick F100 has been transformed into a show stopping cruiser! The build began with a solid metal fuselage that was supplemented with custom fiberglass running boards and widened fiberglass rear fenders. Once that profile was professionally aligned, its svelte facets were doused in brilliant PPG Torch Red two-stage. And today, this impressive Effie is one sizzling classic that looks cooler than pretty much every car at any show its owner chooses to attend!

From its reversed hood to its rounded door corners, there's a lot of old school aesthetic on this sick '56, and the closer you look the cooler the details get. At the front of the truck, a chromed grille centers a bold "V8" insignia between modern headlights, blacked out marker lights and a chromed bumper. Opposite that blade, a forward-tilt hood flies Ford's coolest header emblem in front of custom side badging that proudly flaunts the truck's storied powerplant. Short and equally stylish mirrors reflect a tinted greenhouse behind factory stainless, trick door handles and polished wipers. A frenched antenna leads a vibrant Oak bed, which props a billet fuel filler between stainless skid strips and filled stake pockets. And a traditional tailgate, finished with chrome "FORD" lettering, shades a custom rear bumper between bright LED taillights that are reinforced by billet stands.

LEGEND POWERS LEGEND

Move the truck's convex hood and you'll find 429 cubic inches of legendary Ford power that's been fully detailed and carefully sorted! Nail the throttle and a billet air cleaner punches wind through a coated Quick Fuel 4-barrel that rides tall on an Edelbrock Victor 460 intake. That polished plane looks right at home between polished Ford Racing valve covers, which float billet breathers on traditional cast iron heads. Quality Painless Wiring jolts a hot Pertronix distributor, which sequences spark though color-keyed Accel SuperStock plug wires that trace awesome, "V8" branded looms. The smooth mill breathes through coated Sanderson block huggers. Polished serpentine components spin a coated water pump between a polished alternator, polished power steering hardware and a polished AC compressor. A polished Be Cool radiator, paired with a small transmission cooler, cycles water around a big electric puller fan. Custom inner fenders join a massaged firewall and polished hood supports to create worthy framing. The color-keyed engine features many cool details, including polished bolt caps, billet fluid reservoirs, polished fluid lines, a polished oil pan and trick dipsticks. And everything rides under a custom, "429" branded engine cowl.

KIT TO MATCH

Park this Ford on a lift and it becomes very obvious that the truck's builder remained keenly focused on show that goes. Behind the big block, a reliable C6 3-speed makes easy work of extended cruising, channeling power to a tough 10-bolt axle that's packed with a posi-traction differential and smooth, 3.08 gears. That drivetrain pushes a lowered suspension that's finished with a trusty Chevy Nova front-clip. Turns are tight thanks to quick-ratio Borgeson power steering. Four power-assisted discs bring everything to a quick halt. A steady stream of acceleration is provided by a custom fuel tank. Large-diameter pipes feed throaty Flowmaster mufflers and polished, side-exit tips. And those boxed Chevrolet outlets perfectly complement polished American Racing Torq Thrust IIs, which turn 255/55R18 Toyo Proxes S/Ts in front of 295/45R20 Toyo Proxes S/Ts.

BUILT TO CRUISE

Inside this pickup, comfort is the name of the game. Plush bucket seats wrap soft Ivory leather around power adjustment for both the truck's driver and passenger. A carefully customized dash seats Ford-branded AutoMeter telemetry next to Vintage Air conditioning and remote-controlled Custom Autosound audio. A custom console props a late-model F-150 shifter behind switches for modern power windows. Rich red carpet crawls past billet foot pedals on its way to custom side panels, which feature billet armrests and rad Ford emblem door handles. A second small console dots a sculpted headliner. And the driver spins a red-tinged billet steering wheel around a tilting Ididit steering column.

With a reliable, well-dressed drivetrain, a killer custom interior and clean lines all around, this Ford is dead-set on turning heads everywhere it goes. Wanna join it in the spotlight?
