This is a very well-known 1963-1/2 Galaxie 500 XL R-code 427/425hp
dual-quad convertible. Documented by Ford Marketing, only 411 Ford
427 convertibles were ever built. The car received a total body-off
restoration to factory original specs and has been in a
climate-controlled garage since. The car was restored by noted 427
Galaxie registrar Dave Walters. The car looks as it was delivered
to the dealer in 1963 and matches all the body/trim tag codes. Body
76B, Galaxie 500 XL convertible; color X, Heritage Burgundy; trim
81, A 63 1/2 only Parchment interior. Has a 3.50 axle with a
4-speed manual transmission. The car has mostly factory-original
parts, except for the battery, tires, clutch and convertible top.
Other options include a power top, radio with rear speaker and rare
correct Rotunda tachometer, which is fully functional. Previous
owner history is known. The car recently had the carbs rebuilt and
a tuneup to ensure it is in excellent running/driving condition, as
well as a thorough detailing.
