Vehicle Description
Debut in 1952 as Ford's top-of-the-line trim level, the Crestline
was offered as either a two-door Victoria hardtop, Sunliner
convertible or four-door station wagon. Not willing to mess with
success, Ford's passenger cars received only detail updates -
limited to the front bumper and parking lights - for 1953. That
year was an important one for the giant automaker, with 1953
marking its historic 50th anniversary. Ford's "Flathead" V8 engine
made its final appearance in the company's passenger-car lines for
1953, displacing 239ci and delivering 110 factory-rated horsepower.
This 1953 Ford Crestline Victoria Hardtop retains a mostly original
black paint finish with age-appropriate patina and rub-through at
the upper surfaces. The interior includes the original-appearing
gray broadcloth upholstery. Powered by a correct 239ci Ford
Flathead V8 engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission equipped
with overdrive, this Crestline has a newer battery and new coolant
hoses in place. It features a heater and push-button AM radio. It
comes with an extra grille and other miscellaneous spare parts
inside the trunk. The car rides on a set of steel wheels with full
bright hubcaps. The bright trim appears mostly complete and twin
front and rear bumper guards provide additional curb appeal. From
the Mile-High Collection.
