Vehicle Description
Designed and built to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Shelby
American's original Mustang-based GT500, the 500-horsepower Ford
Shelby GT500 took place in 2007 at the pinnacle of the Mustang
lineup as the most powerful production Mustang model ever created
to that point. Powered by a hand-assembled, supercharged 5.4-liter
V8, the GT500 engine was based on Ford's 4.6-liter architecture
with a longer stroke, high-strength iron cylinder block, four-valve
cylinder heads and Eaton R122 Roots-type supercharger. Performance
was - and remains electrifying, quoted by Motor Trend magazine
road-test editors as including 0-to-60 mph acceleration in 4.5
seconds, 0-to-100 mph in just 9.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in
12.7 seconds at 116 mph. While the GT500's top speed is
electronically limited to 155 mph, a 175-mph top end is
theoretically possible, nonetheless. Anchor-like braking is
delivered by a Brembo 4-wheel disc setup, with stopping from 60 mph
to rest requiring only 110 feet. Accompanied by the original window
sticker, this 2007 Shelby GT500 features the driver-preferred
6-speed manual transmission. One of 2,252 2007 Shelby GT500
Fastback Coupes factory-finished in Code HP Performance White
paint, accented by blue racing stripes, this 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
Fastback is offered with only 69 actual miles accumulated at the
time of writing. Choice options include the Code 68 Premier Trim
package including a stitched console, Sports pedals, and leather
seating surfaces. The Code 918 Shaker 1000 audio system is yet
another choice option of this GT500, including a 6-disc, in-dash CD
changer and Sirius satellite radio connectivity. Passenger
amenities are equally impressive, including power windows and door
locks, a six-way power driver's seat, climate control, cruise
control, SVT tuned suspension and a high-performance dual exhaust
system. Shelby rocker-panel stripes and aggressive Cobra emblems
enhance this GT500's visual appeal, while 18-inch SVT alloy wheels
mounting fat Goodyear Eagle F1 high-performance radial tires send
the power to the road. Accompanied by the aforementioned original
window sticker documenting original features, options, and factory
data. From the Mile-High Collection. CARFAX shows Ford Motor
Company manufacturer safety recall issued on 02/20/2008: Passenger
airbag.
