Vehicle Description
This 1979 Chevrolet Suburban had the body removed from the frame
prior to being painted in a two-tone tan and cream in 2010.
Additional work done involved the replacement of the lower rear
quarter-panels and hood, and exterior details include a chrome
front grille and bumpers, a split tailgate with an electric window
and Silverado fender badging. The front axle is equipped with
manually locking hubs, and stopping power is provided by disc
brakes upfront and drum brakes in the rear. The replacement 350ci
V8 was installed under current ownership and features a
blue-painted long block assembly. Power is sent to the rear or all
four wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission and a
dual-range transfer case. A MagnaFlow muffler has also been
installed. The interior features bench seats that are trimmed in
tan cloth and vinyl along with matching carpeting, door panels and
a body-colored two-tone dash. The headliner was also replaced
during the refurbishment. Amenities include a front and rear
climate-control system, power steering, power windows, a
push-button stereo, and cruise control. A two-spoke tilt steering
wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer, a 5,000-rpm tachometer and
auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, fuel level and coolant
temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 96,000 miles,
approximately 20,000 of which have been added under current
ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The white-painted 16-inch
steel wheels wear Chevrolet hubcaps and are wrapped with 265/75
Uniroyal Laredo tires.
