Vehicle Description
The 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe is a classic pre-war design that
has been given a ton of investments to make a custom worthy of the
modern age. That means fuel-injected LT1 power, an overdrive
transmission, upgraded suspension, sleek metallic paintwork, and a
coordinated interior filled with the best features, including air
conditioning.
This sedan is distinctive from the moment you catch a glimpse of
the profile. Silver and red are both nice 1940s colors, but they
have a very modern twist here. They have deeper tones of
sophistication, and at the same time, a terrific radiance. So the
silver has the look of champagne, and the red could almost pass for
maroon in some lights. So it all looks very fresh on this classic.
Of course, it's easy to recognize this is a fully upgraded package.
The factory never gave you this level of two-tone separated by a
triple pinstripe, flame-kissed rear fenders, and Colorado Customs
17-inch wheels. But as upgraded as this sedan is, it also respects
its history in the right places. You see it best in the brightwork
with a big shine on the artful grille, unique headlight bezels,
bumpers, and hallmark full sail ship mascot leading the way.
Suicide doors are always cool to have. So we know you'll love
parking at the car show and opening all four of them nice and wide.
Plus, the interior has a great custom look that's worth showcasing.
The gray with burgundy tweed inserts is a thoughtfully laid out
package, and it harmonizes nicely with the exterior two-tone theme.
A full-size sedan means plenty of room for family and friends. They
even get to stay happy with great upgrades like cold-blowing R134a
air conditioning, power windows, power locks, luxurious modern
seating, and TV screens in the headrests for the rear seats. Your
stereo is a modern AM/FM/CD unit with USB and Bluetooth. It's your
gateway to a full custom speaker system, including the custom
subwoofer enclosure in the fully furnished trunk. As fun as this is
for everyone, a car like this was built with the driver in mind.
The front seats are high-back buckets with racing harnesses and are
power-adjustable. You've got a classic banjo-style sports steering
wheel on a tilt column, and the Dakota Digital gauges have a cool
red glow to go with the color theme. And your ignition isn't a key
but a card inserted into a special slot on the dash!
The engine bay has clean inner walls color-matched to the exterior,
and the engine even has the same red metallic accents to
coordinate, too. So you know this is a thoughtful and tidy setup.
More than just look good, the callouts on the motor let you know
this is a 5.7-liter LT1 borrowed from a Corvette. These
fuel-injected V8s are a terrific powerhouse for plenty of power in
all situations. It makes for a solid base for a quality cruise. And
updates like Mustang II-style independent front end and four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive add to this all-around good
driver feeling. There's also power steering, power brakes, front
disc brakes, and the grip of modern sport tires.
Here's a classic Plymouth rebuilt to be a terrific modern cruiser.
