Vehicle Description
The 2001 Ford Mustang Roush Stage 2 convertible is a true black
beauty. And it's not just that you get the full midnight package,
but also that this drop-top has everything you want, including
fuel-injected V8 power, the control of a five-speed stick-shift,
and a loaded A/C interior. Plus, you know it's a sharp handling
machine because it has the Roush name on it.
This pony car is done just the way you want a modern classic to be
when it also needs to be an engine driver. The factory Ebony black
is the original application, and the way it looks good today tells
you it has been treated with the proper respect. So does averaging
only about 2,500 miles annually. The high-gloss luster continues to
look good in the sunshine, and so it makes for a great sunny day
driver. But this one also looks good with the top up, too, because
the black roof only adds to the car's midnight attitude. Of course,
what really makes this aggressive is the Roush upgrading. The
deep-dipping front fascia, rear valances, and rear wing make this
look like a racecar for the streets. That's especially true for the
side ground effects with integrated side exhaust tips. And while a
modern Pony car has a sleek chrome-free appearance, a bold one like
this can't resist some brightwork. That's why you have the polished
18-inch Roush alloys.
As much as we like the look of this one with the roof up, a
convertible is meant to be open to the world, and this one doesn't
disappoint. After all, the factory Dark Charcoal has that same dark
attitude as the rest of the car. This is set up to be a driver's
machine with a grippy sports steering wheel, full gauge package,
and a stick shift that's the perfect place to put your right hand.
And the addition of the roll hoop makes it look like this one is
ready for the racetrack. The special Roush bucket seats have the
name embossed in a cool red streak across the back, and you have
special Roush aluminum pedals. Plus there is a Roush Stage 2
special plaque under the ignition. More than just looking sporty,
this is loaded with all the best features. It includes cruise
control, power locks, dual airbags, power steering, a tilt column,
and an AM/FM stereo with a six-disc CD changer. But the features we
know you're going to love the best are the power windows and power
convertible top. Together, they mean you don't even have to leave
the driver's seat to go from enclosed comfort to a
wind-in-your-hair experience. Plus, you can do this and stay cool
all through the summer thanks to R134A air conditioning.
Ford's 4.6-liter V8 is already a great powerplant, and the Roush
Stage 2 treatment only heightens the experience with a proper cold
air intake. The Roush engineers especially focused on making sure
this pony could have the suspension that could keep up with the
powerful V8. The Stage 2 kit is a specially engineered package that
makes it even more fun to rip down the backroads. And the
five-speed manual transmission really puts the control of the full
package in your hands. Stopping is even nicely done with four-wheel
power disc brakes, ABS, and grippy ZR-rated tires.
This is the low-mileage Roush car with a great dark heart attitude.
