Vehicle Description
Premium, vintage, upgraded, and absolutely powerful... this 1968
Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute makes all the right first
impressions. It's a serious muscle machine with a fuel-injected big
block, race-ready components, and a beefed-up suspension. But more
than just pure power, features like cold-blowing air conditioning
and an overdrive transmission make this a solid cruiser, too.
The bright pearl white is a timelessly appealing color, and that's
especially true when you invest in a quality application. The deep
gloss has a pristine glow that loves to show off the fastback
profile. Adding to the shine is the excellent brightwork you see
everywhere from the wraparound chrome bumpers to the trim. But
what's most impressive about this sharp-looking classic is the way
they added a touch of modern with the well-coordinated gunmetal
gray. It starts with the racing stripes that are painted on the
hood and trunk in the classic style. This dark metallic gray has
been cleared over with the rest of the paint so that the light
loves to roll evenly across the smooth body. And a proper '68
Chevelle sports coupe also has the lower rocker paint, and in this
case, they match the stripes. Plus, the American Racing wheels even
coordinate with this accent gray. It all really helps show off how
thoughtful they were when restoring this hardtop.
The interior is a clean and stylish setup that's a solid mix of
performance and comfort. The doors, headliner, carpeting, and dash
all have a dark and quality appearance. This has the right upgrades
for added comfort, like power front windows, an AM/FM stereo,
deeply tinted windows, and cold-blowing air conditioning. That
makes for a nice coupe for people to hop in and have a good time.
But really, you can already see that this one was built for the
driver to have the most fun. You have a pair of modern racing
bucket seats up front. They are high back units that keep you
planted better during spirited driving. There's also an upgraded
sports steering wheel on a tilt column, a B&M shifter, and a
full array of upgraded gauges, including a column-mounted tach. And
the Sniper EFI controller mounted under the dash is a big reminder
that you're going to love what's under the hood.
The engine bay has a thoughtful style with clean inner walls,
billet hood hinges, and an overall tidy style. It's a great way to
showcase the monster powerhouse in the middle. This is a 454
cubic-inch big block that's built right with details like an
aluminum Intake, Hooker long tube headers, and impressively
straight pipes on the dual exhaust. But what you'll love the best
is that the motor is topped with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel
injection system that's terrific for power and consistency. There
are nice supporting components, too, like the CVR vacuum pump and
large aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The TCI 700R4
street fighter four-speed automatic transmission is the ideal
pairing because it has a stout construction for performance
driving, and it also shifts smoothly into overdrive. Plus, there's
power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and a beefed-up rear
suspension.
Complete with build receipts, this is a custom coupe that has
quality look and aggressive style you love. And when a powerful
icon like this was also built to be a great all-around cruiser, you
know this is an irresistible dream car you need in your driveway.
