Vehicle Description
This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is your ultimate cruiser. It takes the
ultra-desirable hardtop body and presents it with a bright style to
show off all the classic curves and accessories. They thoughtfully
restored it with upgraded V8 power, an A/C interior, and other
details to make it a great driver. So it's the kind of coupe that
has been restored to be easier to take more places, and it's
impressive everywhere it arrives.
You can tell this car has been treated with long-term care. In
fact, it's more like an heirloom. This was passed down from
grandfather to grandson, and he had a full restoration done in
2006. And ever since then it has been treated with the best care.
That's why the period-correct Matador Red continues to have an
award-worthy finish that will make many other classic cars jealous.
It has a deep shine that highlights all the best curves of the
sheet metal. And the Bel Air's hallmark full-length trim runs
through the doors like an unbroken line just to highlight the level
of quality in the panels. There's mirror-like chrome to showcase
the iconic front end, gold anodized trim to show off a premium
Chevy, and everything looks correct, right down to wide whitewall
tires. And because this classic still loves to be a boulevard
cruiser, it has all the period-correct accessories, like rear
fender skirts, dual aerials, and a continental kit on the rear.
The interior continues the thoughtful vintage style. Plush carpets,
a smooth dash, bright trim, and a taut headliner all look
fantastic. And we love the hallmark detailed upholstery with
textured cloth inserts, and the door panels are done to match. It
feels like a pure vintage atmosphere, right down to the stoplight
viewer on the dash. But then you notice some very well-integrated
upgrades. For example, the steering wheel looks vintage, but it's a
smaller diameter unit for a better sport feel (the factory one also
comes with the sale.) There's also a retro-style AM/FM stereo with
cassette, front seatbelts, and CD changer, and a removable center
console for a more comfortable cruiser. And there's no better
feeling than when you're driving around with all the windows down
on this pillarless hardtop with the air conditioning contributing
to the breezes for the ideal comfortable temperature.
While the exterior and interior are proudly vintage, the engine bay
makes sure the upgrades take center stage. The clean inner walls
funnel your attention to the polished components and bold orange
valve covers with a modern Chevrolet script. Not only is this 350
cubic-inch V8 larger than any of the small blocks offered in the
Tri Five era, but this also has a Holley four-barrel carburetor and
an Edelbrock dual-plane aluminum intake. The mild cam gives this
quality power, and at the same time, it adds a nice tune to the
H-pipe dual exhaust and glasspack mufflers. It's a strong runner
with nice supporting components, like an electric fan and an MSD
ignition. Plus, the three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and power brakes w/front discs are all part of a solid
cruising package.
This is the kind of total package of style and substance you were
always hoping to have on a true American icon. So if you want to
