For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet C10 in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1972 CHEVROLET ½ TON PICKUP C10 – 8’ Fleetside

Chevrolet launched a revised version of the successful first series of C/K pickup in 1967. Coil springs remained at all four corners beneath the restyled 1967 Chevy C10, but a crisp, clean pickup appeared on the outside, and in some opinions the new Chevy looked even more modern than its half-ton Ford rival, which was also updated that year. The 1969 model year was the first to feature the 350-cid Chevy small-block V-8 (LS9 option), replacing the previous year’s 327 engine. The 1972 Chevy pickups tend to be the most popular, with a shared large egg crate grille and further refinements such as front disc brakes.

RB Collection is pleased to offer this well-restored and attractive example of Chevrolet’s Pickup, the 1972 Chevrolet C10 – Cheyenne Super. Subject to a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration, it now presents in outstanding condition from front to back. This C10 is finished in the original two tone White and Medium Blue (#481) over a blue interior. The Chevrolet C10 presents in very good condition overall, with straight body panels, good gaps, and high-quality paintwork. Doors are properly aligned and shut with a solid, satisfying feel. As expected of a high-level restoration the chrome and bright trim are all in excellent condition, showing no pits, corrosion, or dings even on the bumpers and along the polished rocker trims.

Inside, Blue upholstery is in outstanding condition. Seats show no signs of wear or any damage, appearing fresh and unworn since the restoration. Door and interior quarter panels are likewise in good condition, with correct arm rests in place. The Blue carpeting is excellent, and the car retains the original seatbelts. The quality detailing extends to the 8’ bed, which is correctly painted, and fitted with a correct GM rubber mat.

Under the hood is Chevy’s 350 Cubic Inch V8 (#LS9), rated at 250 horsepower matched with a Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission (#M49). This Chevy runs very well, and like the rest of this truck, the engine is superbly detailed and finished to a showroom-new standard.

Like finding gold, the truck has the original “Service Parts Identification - SPID” located inside the glovebox door. Reading the SPID reveals almost everything one would like to know about this 1972 Chevy C10 truck, including not only the two-tone color and the 350 engine, but also that the truck came equipped from the factory with Air Conditioning (#C60), Power Steering (#N40), and the very desirable and expensive Cheyenne Super Equipment (#YE9).

Today, this generation of Chevrolet C10’s is some of the most beloved collector trucks, and for good reason. They are drop-dead gorgeous, have timeless styling, possess good build quality, and are easily drivable in modern traffic. Beautifully restored and maintained in top condition since, this lovely Chevy pickup is sure to please the distinguished collector.
