Vehicle Description
Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta is proud to offer this stunning
Studebaker Commander Coupe.
This '53 Studebaker Commander Coupe is hard to find and distinctive
enough to grab everyone's attention! This Studebaker has tons of
documentation including all receipts for the restoration.
1953 was the introduction of Studebaker's first entirely new body
style since 1947. Surprisingly, the demand for the Loewy coupes, as
they were called (after designer Raymond Loewy), outweighed the
demand for the sedans 4 to 1! The 1953 Studebaker Loewy coupe was
acclaimed numerous times as the most beautiful car ever produced.
Beautiful they were, and this one has had some nice engine mods to
help add some muscle to this beauty. It is equipped with the
232-cu. in. V-8 3 speed transmission with Overdrive, The
Studebaker-Philco "Skyway" AM radio, the "Climatizer" heating and
defrosting system, original Studebaker promotional literature, and
tons of addental parts and paperwork are included with this
stunning example of Studebaker history! This look was originally
penned by legendary industrial designer Raymond Loewy along with
another great force in American automotive styling, Virgil Exner.
The unique presentation with the long trunk and wrapping around
rear glass made these look absolutely futuristic in the '50s. Don't
let this rare and beautiful piece of automotive history slip
through your fingertips. Call today!
