The heart of this Superformance Cobra MKIII is a fully built engine
provided by Southern Automotive Engines. It began as a 390 Ford V8
bored out to 427 cubic inches. Parts used include: ARP Bolts, Keith
Black High Performance Pistons, Edelbrock Camshaft, Dynagear High
Perfromance Timing Chain Set, Melling High Volume Oil Pump with ARP
Oil Pump Drive Shaft, Canton 8 Quart Oil Pan, Edelbrock Performer
RPM Aluminum Cylinder Heads, Stainless Steel intake/exhaust Valves
Fully Ported and Polished, Edelbrock Performer PRM Aluminum Intake
Manifold, Holley 750 Carburetor, Stellings Chrome Air Cleaner with
K&N Air Filter, Dove Aluminum Rocker Arms, Pioneer Pushrods,
Edelbrock Flywheel, Ram 11" High Performance Clutch, and Edelbrock

With a curb weight of 2,590 pounds the car reaches 0-60 in the high
3 second range thanks to 350 wheel horsepower and 390 lb-ft of
torque proven by a dyno sheet. A top speed of 164 miles per hour is
reachable for those brave enough to attempt the feat... The Tremec
5-Speed is regarded as a bulletproof transmission until pushing its
limits at the 450 horsepower mark. The shift knob has a period
correct 4-speed knob. It's safe to say high horsepower paired with
reliability was a thought for this build. The ZF limited slip
differential has a ratio of 3:45:1. Brakes are ventilated in all 4
corners with 4 piston Willwood's in the front and single piston's
in the rear.
