Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Nice little survivor that has never seen a restoration!
While this car isn't 100% factory original, the 41,000 odometer
reading is believed to be correct and much of this car is
original.
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Coronet is in incredible condition,
and shows well. The body is very straight, and really shows the
level of care this car has received over the years. Even the
underside is in nice condition, which is no small feat for an Ohio
car of any kind, let alone a late '60s Mopar! As far as we can
tell, this Coronet is still in all of its original sheet metal.
Truly impressive!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Vehicles of the 1960s weren't exactly
known for long-lasting paint, so it is no surprise that this
Coronet has received a repaint along the way. It looks to have been
painted many years ago, but the paint shines nicely and is in
overall good condition despite some normal wear and tear from age
and use.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior is in surprisingly nice,
original condition, though the front seat was previously recovered
in a non-matching material as seen in the photos. The radio was
also replaced with an aftermarket cassette deck, but it still works
just fine! The quality of the interior is amplified by the fact
that it appears to be in largely original condition, save for the
front seat and carpet.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood, this car remains mostly the
way it was intended to be from factory, and looks to have simply
received proper maintenance over the years. The engine bay is
clean, and everything has that nice original look to it. The 2BBL
318 V8 purrs like a kitten, and the 904 automatic transmission
shifts great! Despite popular belief, the 440 model actually had no
relation to the 440 engine, and the 318 was the standard option for
these cars. Don't let the smaller displacement fool you; the 318 is
a great choice for a family cruiser like this!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The overall originality, and the
well-preserved nature of this vehicle. It just simply isn't
something you see every day! This is a well-preserved, affordable
classic that is sure to be a conversation starter.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If anything, the fact that it's
a 4-door may be a turn-off for some.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The fuel gauge is not currently
operational.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Whether you're looking for a
unique weekend cruiser, or just something fun to mess around with
in your free time, this affordable 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 sedan is
a great option!
