Do you dig antiques and classic cars? Maybe you want to own a piece of history. Or perhaps you want to feel like a queen of a bygone era? Yep, that's why we bought this car, I love classic cars and my wife got the bug, but wanted something "different" and "unique" and that would "make her feel like a queen of decades past." Thus we have owned this car for about 7 years now. So why get rid of it? Well, we love cars, and we have... too many of them, and we're not rich enough like Jay Leno to have a massive garage and our own show about our car collection. So, we had to pick something to go. We live in Southern California, and my wife doesn't drive this with the top up, EVER (she doesn't feel like a queen with the top up). In Southern California, it's often too hot with the traffic for the hotter 4-6 months of the year. Whereas all the other cars are viable all year long.
The engine, trans, and carburetors are maintained and in top-shape by a local vintage Mercedes specialist in nearby Costa Mesa. It's a 4-speed manual transmission. The car has been garaged all 7 years we've owned it. The canvas top was replaced 2 years ago and looks new, and various other accessories and small parts in the car have been replaced, but nothing major. The interior is in great shape with light wear in a few spots. The odometer has not worked since we've owned it. There's some bubbling, chips, and cracking in the paint (see pictures) on the hood and the rear fender that can't be avoided when you're driving (or parked in traffic) in the California sun, as well as from sitting out at vintage car shows and marathons (e.g. Disneyland). A car cover is included, and we can provide all maintenance documentation since we've owned.
