Mechanical
Under the hood is what we believe to be the original Chevrolet sole
engine for 1928, a OHV inline-four, which displaced 171 cubic
inches. It utilized solid valve lifters, a one-barrel Carter
carburetor, and was rated at 35 horsepower.
The engine seems to have mostly original parts including the carb,
valve cover, air cleaner assembly, and starter and runs well, with
the unsynchronized transmission that shifts well for those who can
double clutch.
The engine bay appears to be stock and also looks as it did back in
the twenties and you will cruise around on the street as it did
back then on body color painted solid wheels with black sidewall
tires.
Interior
Inside or 1928 is a clean and neat rolled and tucked stock looking
black bench seat that looks great and is very comfortable. It has
the factory gauges in the middle of the dash, floor shifter, wood
factory 4-spoke steering wheel, and black carpet.
The convertible top is in good shape and easy to raise and lower
and will protect you in case of rain.
The rear "rumble seat" in the back is spacious and it still has the
chrome step-up on the fender that you need to use to get into
it.
Exterior
Our 1928 Chevrolet Roadster has a factory looking shade of green
with contrasting pinstriping on the bodywork and contrasting black
paint on the fenders and running boards with optional front and
rear bumpers.
The running boards appear to be straight and in good condition as
is the doors, trunk lid, and other body components.
A spare tire is mounted on the rear and on the front it has twin
headlights, the iconic grill, and factory horn.
Conclusion
The 1928 Chevrolet Roadster we here at Skyway Classics is a great
old classic car that will be a fun car and driver to take on a
