Vehicle Description
We already know the Chevrolet SSR is a future/modern classic. After
all, it has V8 power, sports car handling, and a unique retro-style
design that is impressive from the moment it comes into sight. But
not all were created equal. Later examples, like this 2005 SSR came
with the Corvette's fuel-injected V8, and a rare few also took full
advantage of this power with a six-speed manual transmission. So
have you realized yet that everything making this low-mileage
all-black SSR a standout today is also what keeps it desirable well
into the future?
If you've ever been admiring Chevy's classic Advance Design pickups
of the '40s and '50s, then you instantly understand the appeal of
the SSR. After all, this retro machine mixes the legendary curvy
style with modern streamlining. Speaking of slick style, that
factory black paint has the kind of original deep luster that
instantly tells you this low-mileage vehicle has been cherished for
the last dozen years. Because this is meant to look like a true
1950s machine, there is plenty of brightwork on the grille, door
handles, and even the optional running boards. Plus, the bright
factory alloys are staggered 19/20 inches front/rear for an extra
aggressive stance.
The black interior is the perfect complementing color for a means
as midnight style that came from the factory. Averaging under about
1,300 miles annually meant there was little time to even put a
crease in the leather. And so you not only have one of the most
desirable color combos for a classic car, but this one has been
preserved with the right care to make sure it can be fully
appreciated as it matures into a full classic. Plus, the SSR
ensured its place in history with the cool convertible top. Touch a
button and the trick folding hardtop disappears behind the seats,
making this the coolest open-air truck since the Model A roadster
pickup of the 1930s. But while this might look retro, inside is
anything but old school truck basic - offering sculpted bucket
seats, a color-matched center console, and every feature GM could
dream up. Features include power windows, power locks, power seats,
power mirrors, cruise control, and keyless entry. Plus, with
ice-cold air conditioning and heated seats, you can stay
comfortable with the top down basically all year round. The Bose
stereo has been upgraded to a nicely integrated Kenwood AM/FM/CD
touchscreen unit that also houses the backup camera and Bluetooth
(the factory stereo also comes with the sale.) Other modern safety
features include front airbags, side airbags, and anti-lock brakes.
While the covered and locking bed is large enough to carry really
big stuff, it's beautifully finished with carpets and wood - so
it's the most spacious trunk around!
The 2005 model is an ideal year in the SSR's brief life. This was
when Chevrolet added two key upgrades: the LS2 motor and a
six-speed manual transmission... and this one has them both! This
6.0-liter fuel-injected powerplant was shared with the Corvette,
and so the 390hp represented a 30% upgrade in power over the
previous year. The Tremec six-speed lets you unleash the full fury
of this high-performance pickup, and so this all-black SSR is a
true midnight predator. Out on the streets, the sports suspension
with rear sway bar, four-wheel disc brakes, and grippy Goodyear
Eagle RS-A tires come together to deliver a modern muscle machine
disguised as your favorite retro truck.
The sale comes complete with the original window sticker and a
dealer brochure. This unique and fun machine comes with all the
best features and all the right paperwork to keep you enjoying it
for years to come. So while we call it a future classic, we also
know you can't resist it today. Call now!
