The most significant change to the second generation 991 GT3 is the
4.0-liter engine, which replaced the 991.1's 3.8-liter mill. The
displacement bump results in 500 hp versus the dot one's 469 hp.
With a PDK transmission the 0-60 mph time is 3.2 seconds, which is
about a half second quicker than the manually shifted version.
Other changes for the dot two include a more effective front
spoiler, improved downforce (now 340 lbs) and tweaks to the rear
suspension and engine air intakes. But what makes the 991.2 so
special is the engine's mechanical scream as it rips through the
upper rev ranges, and it hits its 9,000-rpm red-line. Wow, it's a
sound to be relived time and time again, especially in the PDK
version where each red-line shift hammers almost instantly into the
next gear and each shift is accompanied by a satisfyingly loud bark
from the exhaust. The 991.2 GT3 being offered by Driven comes in GT
Silver Metallic, which is one of Porsche's more desirable silvers,
as it provides a beautiful changing palette to the exterior,
depending on cloud and sunlight. The car has steel brakes and PDK
transmission, and the interior has black leather/race tech fabric
with an extended leather package to enhance the look and feel of
the dash area. This is a one-owner car with Xpel PPF over the front
end and FEYNLAB ceramic coating applied over the entire car. A
Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is provided, along with owner's
manual, books and two keys.
