Vehicle Description
Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta is proud to offer this fantastic
1955 Ford Thunderbird. The first-generation Thunderbird was
produced from 1955-57, but the brand remained in production to
1997, then re-introduced from 2002 to 2005 creating 11 distinct
generations. Ford positioned the Thunderbird as an upscale model
and it was credited in developing a new market segment, the
personal luxury car. The Ford Thunderbird was introduced in
February 1953 as a response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the
Corvette. But unlike the Corvette, it was not marketed as a sports
car. Though sharing some design characteristics with other Fords of
the time, such as single, circular headlamps and tail lamps and
modest tailfins, the Thunderbird was sleeker in shape and featured
a hood scoop and a 150 mph speedometer not available on other
Fords. It was a two-seat design available with a detachable
glass-fiber hardtop and a folding fabric top (both included
here).
This 1955 Ford Thunderbird looks stunning finished in Thunderbird
Blue (Turquoise, code "T") over Turquoise/ White (code "C")
interior. The fender skirts sitting over the wide whitewall tires
is Americana at its finest. And take note of the rare chrome
"eyebrow" headlight covers. The interior is just amazing with
at-the-time luxury including power window lifts, 4-way power seat,
Astra-Dial full instrumentation panel, telescopic Lifeguard
steering wheel, factory tachometer, directional signals, Magicare
heating/ defrost system, and Delux Town & Country power radio (also
includes a hidden AM/FM/CD/ Bluetooth upgraded sound system with
remote). The electric clock is functional. The cigar lighter is
unused.
Under the hood sits a super-sanitary 292c.i. V8 with an upgraded
carb. It also has a new upgraded electronic fuel pump for
reliability. The engine is backed by a smooth automatic
transmission. The T-Bird includes the original owner's manual and
jack. This car has been meticulously owned and is a consistent show
winner in the Atlanta, GA area, now available for sale. Don't miss
this opportunity to own a splendid piece of automotive history.
