Vehicle Description
This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z/28 has a striking style from a
cool color combo and true vintage Camaro style. And as you dig
deeper, you'll see this has everything you want, including T-tops,
a fuel-injected V8, and the rarely-seen five-speed. So it makes for
an irresistible IROC for an irresistible price.
The Dark Blue paint is one of those colors that seems so rare today
that you'll impress people just by telling them it's the
factory-correct color. It even has been given some investments with
a partial respray and clear coating later in life. The result is a
coupe that has a driver-ready finish that also makes sure you still
get a hint of that metallic luster in the sunshine. The blue also
makes a distant backdrop of the coordinated IROC-Z package. The
black with silver pinstripe decal package sits right above the
sporty body kit as it fully encircles the car. This matches the
special badging on the doors, fenders, and rear bumper. Even the
15-inch IROC-Z alloys look like part of this overall theme for an
attractive appearance.
T-top coupes like this are meant to be open to the world. So it's
great to see the gray interior coordinating with the silver accents
of the exterior to deliver a very harmonious total package. It has
a very original look everywhere from the pattern of the cloth seats
to the Z/28 badge on the dash. There are nice features, like power
locks, an electric rear defogger, a tilt steering column, the
factory AM/FM/cassette stereo, and cruise control. You'll even see
nice stock details like the working dome light and T-tops storage
bags. The factory air conditioning has been upgraded to modern
R134a, and there are plenty of newer components, but it will likely
need a recharge to blow cold again. This IROC-Z is built to be a
great driver with the three-spoke steering wheel that has been
engineered to give you a terrific view of the large speedo and
handy tach.
The engine bay has the unmistakable look of Chevy's TBI fuel
injection, and that's the sign of a hardy and potent V8. This 305
cubic-inch unit has a highly stock and well-maintained/invested
appearance. So while it's unknown if the low odometer reflects the
full actual mileage, we're told this is a two-owner car, and it has
the right look to back up the feeling of quality care. And the 305
is a desirable motor to have because it was the only way to get V8
power with the control of a five-speed manual transmission - a true
rarity in these cars. The IROC-Z was given an upgraded sports
suspension, and this also has power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and Goodyear Eagle GT tires for a great all-around
driver.
This is the sharp-looking Camaro that loves to be the classic
that's easy to love and drive. So if you're looking to hit the
streets in an IROC-Z, you know this is where you want to be. Call
