This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is a factory black restomod that has
been upgraded to have the iconic style of an RS coupe. Plus, the
fuel-injected LS1 motor, overdrive transmission, and four-wheel
disc brakes mean this stunner is also a driver.
The trim tag tells us this is a true factory Tuxedo Black car. That
always has added value, and so we understand why they would pay for
a quality respray. In fact, we're told there's only about 4k miles
on this build since completing its restoration, and the condition
of the paint reinforces the feeling of recent professional work.
You can tell that before the first drop of the paint went down,
they worked on the body to make sure the panels are laser-straight,
the gaps are even, and the doors have a smooth action. Black and
red are terrific muscle car colors, and it's great to find the
optional D91 bumblebee stripe finished in red. There are more great
details, like how the upgraded Rally Sport front end has newer
Detroit Speed headlight doors. And the hood vent trim and D80 rear
spoiler all give this plenty of performance attitude. As a good
1960's classic, you have good brightwork on places like chrome
bumpers, trim, and rockers. The full package comes together with
the polished Torq Thrust wheels with 17/18-inch front /rear stagger
that unite the shine and performance side of this coupe that just
makes you want to get in and drive.
For the same reason we like the look of the red stripe on the
outside, we also love the full red interior. The restoration gave
this a fresh look for all the fundamentals, including the
upholstery, headliner, carpeting, and dash pad. You'll even
appreciate the little classic details, like the working dome
lights. This one is built with the right classic pieces that still
keep this a driver-oriented environment. It includes the low-back
front bucket seats with a center console in-between. But there are
also the right well-integrated upgrades, like a newer Chevy sports
steering wheel and a full Dakota Digital gauge package fitting in
the factory housings. There's even a retro-style AM/FM/cassette
stereo for upgraded driving music.
You'll love popping the hood at car shows and showing off the
top-notch transplant of a more modern motor. The clean black inner
walls look show-worthy, and the more modern Camaro engine topper
was painted with a hint of red to go with the car's full color
theme. This is a fuel-injected 5.7L LS1 V8, which takes this
classic first-year Camaro and brings it into the modern age of
Chevy muscle. It's a very well-done installation that also includes
good supporting components, like the upgraded Spectra air intake
and an aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. It fires up readily
like a modern FI machine should, and makes a sweet sound out of the
X-pipe dual exhaust and MagnaFlow mufflers. It's a nice power
package that's built for all-around good driving. The 4L60E
four-speed automatic transmission knows how to handle this V8's
power while still delivering overdrive comfort. Plus you have power
steering, modern sports tires, and upgraded four-wheel power disc
brakes.
This is the kind of total build that impresses with its style,
freshness, and power. So if you love to drive something quite
memorable, you need this Camaro restomod. Call now!
