Vehicle Description
1987 Buick Regal Grand National GNX Clone LS Swap This car is a
project car with lots of potential. The paint is driver quality
5/10. It photographs much better than it is in person. There are a
few runs here and there and orange peel. It has not been wet sanded
or polished. There is no headliner and the seats need to be
recovered. All of the time and money has been poured into the
drivetrain. Just add turbos or a supercharger and you have a 8-9
second car. If you are looking for a perfect show car this is not
it. This car was built over the last 3 years as the ultimate grand
National GNX clone. One that you can drive and enjoy...a reliable
muscle car with modern GM underpinnings and Holley efi engine
management. This engine is freshly rebuilt and is an absolute
monster with an abundance of power. The cam and torque converter
were custom made for this setup. It has a mean aggressive idle but
is not too overbearing with the 2 chamber mufflers. For the body
has all of the gnx pieces on to look just like the 1987 grand
National GNX. This car has driver quality paint... it is not a show
car. It has bondo at the bottom of the doors and small amount of
bondo on the bottom of the front fenders. Like I said not perfect
but a fun driver car. The frame and floors are in great shape.
There was small patch panels welded in the floor where it had
needed them. The 6.0 engine is a seasoned GM lq4 in which I
installed all new pistons and rods which are the exact same
rotating assembly put in the LS2 corvette. The piston rings are
gapped for boost which will be perfect if you want to add a
supercharger, turbocharger, or nitrous to this combination later
down the road. It has Holley engine and transmission mounts which
position the engine perfectly. It has no driveline vibration and
cruises great unlike many ls swaps. The interior has rear seats
from a amg mercedes. The front seats are original and need to be
re-covered...or just enjoy the car as is. I will also throw in new
carpet.
