Vehicle Description
1985 Mercedes 300D Nice car, drives beautifully, well-maintained.
There are some cosmetic issues, but almost everything works
perfectly. If you buy this car, you will get the car, car cover in
its bag, first aid kit, spare tire, jack, lug wrench, extra fuses,
owner's manuals, service records, title, three ignition keys, and
two door/trunk keys. I've owned this car since March of 2020, and
I've taken good care of it since. I know the previous two owners
are both Mercedes collectors, the first of whom specializes in
antique models and owned the car in Tennessee for multiple decades.
The owner before me had the car in Maryland for what I believe to
be 8 years. I interned at a mechanic shop in summer 2020, so I'm
knowledgeable in taking care of cars. I've also never driven the
car in the winter to protect it from sand, salt, and snow and it
was stored inside my garage. Highlights (Common failure points that
are non-issues on this car): The power sunroof works perfectly. The
cruise control works perfectly. The climate controls work
perfectly. The vacuum central locking system works perfectly. The
radio and antenna work perfectly. The steering is communicative and
relatively sharp. No weird noises at any point while driving. The
transmission shifts beautifully. The turbo is strong. The engine
works perfectly with strong oil pressure, quick starting and
shutdown, and very minimal oil leakage. The fuel level, oil
pressure, and temperature gauges work perfectly. The odometer and
trip gauge count accurately. The clock works perfectly. All
interior, exterior, and gauge cluster lights work perfectly. The
cabin is watertight. The wipers work perfectly. The hood opens to
the service position easily. Here's everything wrong with the car:
Minor scratches and pitting on the exterior chrome trim. Roughly 4
inch by 3 inch section of paint discoloration on the trunk.
Clearcoat scratches. Tachometer occasionally stops working. (Fixing
soon) Speedometer needle was repainted.
