Vehicle Description
This 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible has a marvelous muscle car look
with great options! Initially launching in 1964 as an option
package for the LeMans, the GTO was an instant hit! When Pontiac
paired its mid-sized body platform with its large passenger car
engine, the muscle car was born. In 1965, Pontiac re-styled its
body designs and the famous vertically stacked dual headlights made
their debut across the models. 1966 was the first year that the GTO
became its own separate model for Pontiac with the iconic muscle
car seeing another re-design with new coke-bottle body lines.
Besides a few minor changes to the taillights, grille, and exterior
trim, little changed in the 1967 GTO with regards to the car's
external appearance. However, 1967 marked the debut of several
major mechanical upgrades under the hood. The original 389 Pontiac
V8 was upgraded in '67 to a larger bored-out 400 V8 and the
original 2-speed automatics were replaced with the improved 3-speed
Turbo-Hydramatic TH-400 Automatic Transmissions. Additionally, due
to new federal regulations that took effect in 1967, the '67 GTO
featured a dual master cylinder in the braking system for better
reliability and safety. This particular '67 GTO Convertible comes
to us from collector who owned the car for the past 17 years.
Powering this 1967 Pontiac GTO is a 400 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired
with an upgraded Edelbrock Single 4 Barrel Carburetor. The 400 V8
is hooked up to a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic TH-400 Automatic
Transmission that is shifted using the Dual Gate "His/Her" shifter,
which gives you a best of both worlds feel. This '67 GTO is very
well optioned. With power steering, getting in and out of those
tight spaces at car shows or just in your garage is made a whole
lot easier. Bringing this 1967 GTO Convertible to a stop is also
made easier with power front disc brakes and power drums in the
rear. The white vinyl power convertible top is in excellent
condition and goes up and down with the simple flick of a switch.
The exterior on this GTO Convertible has been refinished in a
beautiful Regimental Red that is sure to grab everyone's attention
cruising down the road. Riding on 4 Redline Radial Tires with Rally
rims, this '67 Pontiac has a great look and even better ride. The
interior on this GTO is fantastic! The front bucket seats and rear
bench seat have been correctly reupholstered in black vinyl. The
black carpeting, black vinyl door panels, woodgrain center console,
steering wheel, and woodgrain dash all appear to be in their stock
configuration and are in nice shape. The dash is equipped with a
120 MPH speedometer, 8,000 RPM tachometer, temperature gauge, oil
pressure gauge, fuel gauge, and AM radio. Whether you're looking
for your very first classic muscle car or your garage is full of
them, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible would be an excellent
choice. Give us a call today!
