Vehicle Description
The Dodge Charger Daytona debuted during the 1969 NASCAR season.
This Daytona was a homologation special, created only to legalize
their aerodynamic shapes for NASCAR competition. They were built to
dominate on the sanctioning body's superspeedways - Daytona and the
newly constructed, 2.66-mile Talladega International Motor Speedway
with its 33-degree banking. There were 502 Daytonas built. This is
one of the 385 440 Magnum-powered cars produced for U.S. shipment.
After its production it was shipped to Creative Industries in
Detroit, MI, to be finished, where it was fitted with an
aerodynamic nose cone, cast-aluminum 58-inch-wide rear wing, rear
flush-mount rear window and other unique items. It was then shipped
to Duke Tufty Company in Sioux Falls, SD, where it was sold to
Ronald Foy. This A11/A36 special model XX29 was ordered in R4
Bright Red and white with the aerodynamic package, which includes a
unique front nose, special windshield moldings, fender-mounted
vents and a rear-mounted spoiler finished in white to match the
Daytona stripe. It is powered by its original matching-numbers
drivetrain, including a 440/375hp Magnum engine paired with the
famous Chrysler TorqueFlite heavy-duty 3-speed automatic
transmission, which delivers power to the Chrysler 8.75 axle with
the A36 performance package that includes a 3.55:1 axle ratio,
Sure-Grip differential and power steering cooler. This highly
optioned Daytona includes the C55 bucket seat and C21 center
fold-down center seat, G11 tinted glass, G31 and G33 mirror option,
J25 3-speed wipers and much more. The interior features Rallye
gauges, white vinyl bucket seats with headrests and center seat,
and rear defrost. Fully documented with all-original drivetrain and
29,000 actual miles. Stored in a climate-controlled garage, it
includes a spare and the jack is in the trunk. Also, includes Build
Sheets, dealer invoice, taxation from South Dakota and warranty
book. Full binder of owner history and service records from new as
well as a Wise Validation Report (0122-2975). This Daytona is in
the MMC Detroit Global Registry.
