Vehicle Description
Known as the "Ultimate 3100," this 1952 Chevrolet 3100 custom
pickup is an award-winning one-off creation. The foundation is a
powder-coated Apicella Designs-spec TCI chassis with RideTech
coilovers, 6-piston Wilwood disc brakes, Currie rear end and
one-off 20/22-inch Raceline Billet Del Mar wheels with Michelin
tires. Powered by a Chevrolet Performance 580hp LSA supercharged
6.2-liter crate engine backed by a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The engine is fitted with several upgrades, including an 8-rib
Concept One front drive belt system, AD long-tube headers,
stainless exhaust system, Rick's Stainless gas tank with OEM
Chevrolet ZL1 fuel pump, hidden ignition coil valve covers,
numerous body-color-painted pieces, dual heat exchangers and a
handcrafted intake. The engine bay is equally as impressive with
custom firewall panels, handmade inner fenders and unique touches
throughout. The interior is a timeless blend of luxury and
modern-day amenities. It features Apicella Designs extended foot
box package to allow more leg room for taller drivers and improved
driver comfort. Built in collaboration with Ron Mangus, the
award-winning interior is wrapped from headliner to floor in
Bentley new market tan leather. Notable features are a
leather-wrapped show-quality floor with carpeted floor mats,
one-touch power windows, Dakota Digital gauges, tire pressure
sensors, polished billet dash inserts, polished billet steering
wheel with leather wrap, Vintage Air heat and air conditioning,
auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, one-off dash with
integrated vents, high-end Rockford Fosgate stereo system and
LizardSkin heat and sound insulation. The exterior of this truck
has extensive modifications, but they are extremely subtle.
Hundreds of hours were spent modifying and fitting panels. Some of
these modifications include handcrafted bumpers that were narrowed
and tucked on the truck, bed fitted to the cab radius and fished
with Apicella Designs radius bed corners, custom inner fenders,
running boards and fenders extended to accommodate larger wheels,
tilt-open bed, oak bed floor, billet aluminum side mirrors,
one-piece side windows, LED lighting and much more. Notable awards
and showings are First in Class and Outstanding Truck Interior at
Grand National Roadster Show 2020, Goodguys Trick Truck Southwest
Nationals 2020 and Barrett-Jackson Cup contender 2020. The truck
was also shown at SEMA 2019 and was nominated for a GM design
award.
