Vehicle Description
A true Pro-Touring Chevelle, this 1970 custom coupe underwent a
complete nut-and-bolt frame-off restoration and has too many
upgrades to list. It was professionally restored and updated with a
supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 Chevrolet crate engine mated to a GM
4L60 4-speed automatic transmission. The high-torque starter,
Wegner alternator, Speartech engine wiring harness and Painless
Performance chassis wiring harness help keep it all running.
Helping put the power to the ground is a Six States driveshaft,
12-bolt rear end, and Yukon Gear and Axle posi-traction
differential. The chassis was powder-coated and fitted with a
Flowmaster custom dual exhaust and stainless-steel headers. The
suspension was upgraded and power-assisted rack & pinion steering
was added along with a Wilwood brake system that includes a dual
master cylinder, 6-piston red calipers over 15-inch rotors up front
and 4-piston red calipers mounted over 14-inch rotors in back. CPP
spindles and upper and lower control arms are fitted, along with
front and rear sway bars. Keeping the V8 cool is a custom radiator
with a SPAL electric fan, and the electric fuel pump keeps the gas
flowing from the custom fuel tank and stainless-steel fuel line. A
Vintage Air climate-control system along with full Dynamat
installed under the custom carpet, insulating the heat and sound to
keep the climate comfortable and the roaring engine sound low for
occupants. Outside, the goal was to keep the car's body lines as
close to original as possible, but this high-quality restoration
spared no expense with subtle modifications, like tightened bumpers
painted to match the body, billet hood hinges, custom SS badging,
tinted windows, LED headlights, LED taillights, and smoked
taillight lenses and turn signals. It is finished with expertly
applied high-quality high-gloss black paint, accented by SS-style
Rally Red stripes along the hood and decklid. The grille and Billet
Specialties door handles are also painted black to keep the color
scheme. Completing the ideal look is a set of custom black 19- and
20-inch staggered Intro wheels wrapped in Nitto Invo tires. Inside,
it is trimmed with a custom red interior that extends to the
headliner, door panels, dash pad and trunk panel. Includes custom
SS seat badges, three-spoke Billet Specialties steering wheel and a
matching red Ididit tilt steering column. Additional modern
upgrades include power windows, power door locks, black door
handles, Viper alarm system and custom-fabricated dash with
sinister black and red Dakota Digital VHX gauges. The stereo
features an AM/FM radio with a Bluetooth head unit with a full
KICKER sound system that includes amp, 10-inch subwoofer and four
cabin speakers. This well-executed Resto-Mod has less than 3,000
miles since completion. Includes build records and comes out of the
personal collection of Barrett-Jackson COO Nick Cardinale.
