Vehicle Description
This outstanding 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is highly coveted with
its magnitude of prestigious awards, including the Mustang Club of
America Grand National Show Gold award in 2019, Shelby American
Automobile Club Northeast Regional Meet Sponsor's Choice award in
2021, Mustang Club of America Grand National Show Gold award in
2021 and Boss Nationals First Place award in 2021. As the original
Ford invoice and deluxe Marti Report indicate, this vehicle was
built and also released to the Garrett Motor Company in
Hendersonville, NC, on April 21, 1970. It was ordered with a Medium
Lime Metallic painted exterior, Ivy vinyl standard bucket-seat
interior, 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission, 3.50 conventional
rear axle, F60x15 belted raised-white-letter tires, Shaker hood
scoop, AM/8-track stereo radio and tachometer. This Boss 302
underwent a complete concours-quality nut-and-bolt restoration in
2010 and has been improved on over the years for judging purposes.
It only has 300 miles since completion because it's been trailered
to most of the shows. The decision was made during the restoration
to change the less-desirable original Medium Lime Metallic color to
the very desirable Calypso Coral color. The paint quality is at a
very high level and has recently been detailed to a brilliant
shine. The Boss 302 blackout treatment and correct stripes were
applied. All the tinted glass is like new and date-coded. The
factory front and rear bumpers were rechromed. The factory
stainless trim was polished. The rear window slats, rear spoiler
and Magnum 500 wheels were added. The wheels are wrapped with
Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15 belted raised-white-letter tires. To
complement the exterior the decision was made during the
restoration to change the original Ivy interior color to Deluxe
White. The gorgeous interior is in beautiful condition throughout,
including the original console. It's equipped with an original
rim-blow steering wheel and Hurst 4-speed shifter that were both
reconditioned. All the original seat belts and shoulder harnesses
were also reconditioned and retagged with date-coded labels. A
folding rear seat and a new set of black carpeted floor mats with
Boss 302 logos were added. The clock is in working order. The
correctly restored trunk compartment contains a quality
reproduction trunk mat, original F78 space-saver spare, inflation
canister and correct jack. The engine compartment is highly
detailed throughout with many correct parts. The car is powered by
its original matching-numbers Boss 302ci V8 engine. The engine was
completely rebuilt and runs excellent. All the correct Boss 302
equipment is in place, including the original Shaker assembly with
snorkel and heatshield, exhaust manifolds, aluminum valve covers,
rev limiter, NOS Z-bar, Autolite alternator, dual diaphragm
distributor, pulleys and complete smog equipment. The engine is
cooled by the original recored radiator with NOS cap. The engine
breathes through a Scott Fuller reproduction dual-exhaust system.
The engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts
very smoothly. A new correct driveshaft, an original complete Drag
Pak oil cooler assembly and 3.91 rear end gears were added. The
undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many correct
parts. The floors were finished in the correct red oxide color with
proper overspray. The steering system, suspension components and
braking system has been gone through. The entire car has factory
stickers and paint marks in the correct locations as the car did
when it rolled off the assembly line. The Ford invoice, Deluxe
Marti Report and awards are included. This vehicle has recently
been serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice
that is included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
