This custom 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Pro-Touring Resto-Mod nicknamed
"The Sting" underwent a comprehensive restoration, mixing the
classic lines of the Sting Ray Corvette with modern luxury muscle
car components. The engine is a professionally built crate 383ci
stroker fuel-injected V8 engine with hydraulic roller motor,
one-piece main, 4-bolt and Dart Competition Aluminum Pro-1 Platinum
72cc heads. This powertrain also includes a March serpentine belt,
TPIs Mini-Ram with EFI ECM fuel-injected system and FIC 38-pound
injectors and a Fast EZ self-tuning EFI Control System and an
inline fuel cooler. Additionally, it has a FAST electronic fuel
pump, MSD 8572 Tach Drive distributor and wires, Crane cams with
Digital Multi-Spark CD ignition, complemented by a Keisler TKO 600
5-speed transmission tuned with .64 gears and a new driveline,
along with a complete Borgeson power steering assembly, DeWitts
aluminum radiator, chrome 120-amp alternator, QA1 adjustable rear
shocks, VB&P special-valved KYB front shocks, Eaton 9-leaf 6/3
Progressive rear leaf spring and Moog front springs, chrome brake
booster, rebuilt 4.11 posi-traction rear end with Sombrero bushings
and chrome air-conditioning compressor. The stance has been lowered
and sits on new 20-inch wheels. The exhaust rumbles through its
custom 2 1/2-inch dual side exhaust with glass packing and
crossover for a deeper exhaust note. Stopping power is provided by
4-wheel disc brakes with a dual master, stainless lines and
e-brake. The Corvette has been finished in a custom-mix Stingray
Red exterior paint complemented by the 1965 big-block hood. The
interior restoration includes a Vintage Air climate-control system,
a custom leather steering wheel and full Mr. Mikes reclining
leather seats, floor insulation for a quieter ride and a
rear-mounted custom sound system. The sale includes manuals and a
binder of restoration receipts.
